Yes it will, when you go to open it again, it will stink.....unless you thoroughly clean out with neat clorine bleach, every nook and cranny, door seals/drains the lot..put some bicarb in a cloth bag to "soak up" any musty smells.

Whirlpool double door fridge. Door wont stay closed. Have to push extra hard to keep it closed

Take out the shelves and drawers. check the rear is clear of ice before putting them back in place, and ensure they are not stopping the door closing. Next check the top and bottom of the door. Is it hitting the frame when closing? If so, straighten it up by tapping the hinge side of the door to make it square to the frame.

My whirlpool sixth sense fridge freezer is reading F01% (fridge side) the motor seems to be overworking(making noise) but doesn't;t do so when fridge door is open. The freezer seems to be fine and...

the motor is suppose to stop when the door opens and turns on when closing the noise could be ice building up and the fun blade rubbing the ice if unit is empty you should leave the unit disconnected so ice melts and noise will go away when reconnecting if no motor replacement is needed.

Refrigerator door closing automatically

Most refrigerators have the opposite problem with little kids pulling the door open then walking away leaving the door open. You can resolve this issue by raising the refrigerator up slightly. .it's helpful to have 2 people for this task. On the front of the fridge on each corner or there of. There are a adjustable leg and by adjusting the leg in you will change the level of the fridge. The farther they are turned out the fridge will lean back and that will with the force of simple gravity make the door close on its own without any help the further in the legs are turned the fridge will lean towards the front. But with some help you can make the cabinet of the unit perfectly level then when you open the door it will stay right where you leave it

Both the freezer and fridge doors hinge on the right, and the left hand side has sagged a little so neither neither door is sealing properly. How do I adjust the doors to raise the left side of the...

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it's wore out and doesn't work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Amana side by side water in the door wpn't shut off. If I open the freezer door it will shut off. I have tried to unplug it and replug but that doesn't help. Model # ARS2667BS.

it sounds like the touch pad button is stuck in so it's like someone is always pushing on it,when the door opens the contact in the door switch stops the power to the board, when you close the door the power goes back to the board.you can check this by disconnecting the ribbon that comes off the touch pad and plugs into the board, unplug the fridge then you can unplug the ribbon, when you plug the fridge back in if the water stops coming out you know the touch pad is bad,if the water still comes out then the board that the touch pad plugs into is bad.you can call your parts store and see if the touch pad comes with the board,i've found this problem on other machines and they sold everything together, but if the parts are sepatate do what i said, unplug the ribbon if the water stops the touch pad is bad,if it doesn't then it's the board that's bad.you can shut off the water at the valve that connects to the fridge if you haven't done that already and then do the tests .good luck.

My side by side fridge door does not close by itself when released

It is likely that your fridge is tilted left or right, and possibly forward at the same time. Most refrigerator doors will self-close if the fridge is slightly tilted both back and to the handle. The fridge is raised or lowered by adjusting the front feet or rollers.

The problem you'll encounter with a side-by-side fridge is that if you adjust for the right-hand door to self-close, there's a good chance that the left-hand door will want to stay or fully open; if you don't check it while making the adjustments. It can take a little extra time to make sure the adjustments make the front both perfectly level left to right, AND slightly higher in the front than the back.

Please rate this reply if you found it helpful - good luck!

Doors don't swing shut automatically

The GE side by side refrigerator has 2 cams on the bottom hinge that helps shut the door. If the cam wears out then the door will not close properly. One of the cams is riveted to the hinge assembly and an extra cam is shipped with it. The cam assemblies can easily be replaced by using the information on the Partselect.com website that refers to the GE TFX22R refrigerator.
