SOURCE: north star petrol pressure washer.

Sounds like the regulator is sticking or is airbound. loosen the water connection and then tighten it back. Could also be that the trigger gun is faulty or needs adjustment. Hope this helped

SOURCE: engine keeps shutting down

Most Honda engines have an oil pressure switch that prevents engine damage due to low/no oil pressure. Make sure there is sufficient oil in the engine and that the wire is connected to the pressure switch.

SOURCE: oil leak at top of pump

The oil in the pump is probably leaking because a seal is blown and water is getting into the piston housing. Take a look inside at the oil. It should be brown and translucent. If it is gray, white or milky, you have a blown oil seal. This reservoir should only be 1/3 full of non-detergent oil to begin with. Hope this helps

SEEPS GREY OIL

May be time for re-seal kit. Usually, water leaking into crank case of the pump will mix with the oil /grease and produce gray looking foam. This grey looking substance still has lubricating properties but is a sign that the seals are failing and allowing water to enter the crankcase. The water can enter thur /past the piston seals or thru crack in the chamber. On some high pressure pumps, there is space between the rear is the piston/cylinder area and the oil/crank case. This space will allow water leaking past the cylinder seals to drain out of the pump and not enter the crankcase. In any case, water or oil leaking out of the pump is not normal. If your pump has several hundered hours of use, check on ebay for complete replacement instead or rebuilding (rebuilding a pump is not always successful, for reliable performance, replace the whole pump with same or upgraded model ). Good luck

I have water in the oil in the comet pump/ZWD 4030. It is on a North Star 3000 hpw.

You have a seal failure, you need to reseal the pump and change the oil in the pump.

Can't fine where to put pump oil in

Dear glenoaks06,
I handled various Karcher washers, but the 2500 I never came across it. Just the same I will give you a few hints and maybe the solution for the problem. When the oil is milkey this means it has water in it. This means that there are faulty seals for sure. Now in many Power Washers the compartment where the oil is located is filled with oil prior to assembling the head unit that contains the pistons. So you have to take apart the the complete head change all seals( HP seals, LP seals and OIL seals). There are pumps that take multi-grade oil(15/50) and others 90 grade oil. If your pump is fan cooled, it probably takes 15/50 oil. Now one of the main biggest problem of water in oil is Faulty and Scratched PISTONS.
So when you have the pump apart....check condition of pistons. It is useless to change seals if pistons are damaged.
Now one thing regarding your problem, is that you have to put together the head with the pump upside down, so that you can fill the compartment (where the pistons are pushed by the swash plate), with OIL, before you put back the complete head with good pistons, springs, seals, valves...etc..etc. These few hints are relevant to quite a number of Karcher washers.

Fulltech.

Pressure washer won`t pressure up

Dear rustrick281,
It seems that your pump needs a good service. The sucktion and delivery valves got faulty. The high pressure seals and the low pressure seals must be renewed. The pistons must be checked for corrosion and cracks. Also the pistons or one of the pistons got stuck due to oncorrect lubrication. The swash plate that drives the pistons could have got loose. So the motor turns and the pump stays dead. So a good examination and service must be done to the pump. To renew all the parts I have mentioned, you must buy a PUMP KIT for you model. The pistons are not included in the pump kit....but hopefuly the pistons are still good. Also the oil inside the pump must be renewed.
Regards,
Fulltech.

Water in oil

Dear akwelectrica,
When a full kit was installed....WHAT was installed??? Were the OIl seals replaced?? Were the Low Pessure Seals Replaced?? Were the high Pressure Seals Replaced?? Was the OIL changed?? If the oil was changed...did all water in the oil compartment been removed?? Also did the suction and delivery valves were replaced?? Now if all these things were done, BUT the pistons were not changed, than the whole kit was done for nothing!! My suspicion is that the PISTONS were not changed. But if all the kit was used and even the PISTONS were changed, than you must for sure have a cracked or damaged head. When I say the HEAD...I am always refering to the part that holds the pistons. But in rare circumstances even the outer head could be damaged. Ask your "Service Tech" what he replaced and you will know the answear. As I said..I suspect that the PISTONS were not replaced by New Ones.
Regards,
fulltech.

My Karcher HD 1050 DE has lost pressure, ive had new valves put on it but still has no go in it

could be allsorts. seals worn. ceramic pistons split, inlet manifold split( frost damage), unloader valve sticking, etc etc.

Put mains water pressure onto it and look for leaks, then run machine and see if it increases pressure, if not i would suspect unloader valve sticking.....

Not very familiar with the 1050 but i'm a service engineer for high press cleaning equipment...
