Why does yard machine y25 string trimmer keep shutting off after a few minutes

Could be a coil issue and you'll need to check it as soon as it dies. If your have at least a 6mm module and a 4mm spark plug arc, then you have a fuel issue.

Why is gas leaking from the air filter

This is a carb flooding issue, there will be a rubber tipped needle in the carb, if this is not seating properly fuel will leak through the air filter, you need to go into the carb, check the metering lever height and replace the needle, unfortunatly it is not possible to replace the needle seat so if it continues to leak after fitting a new needle it will be a replacment carb.

Won't start

Typically, this is a fuel delivery issue...but not always. Check condition of in-tank fuel filter, the fuel lines and inside the carb. Is the carb clean? If you want to clean it, remove the covers, gaskets and diaghrams (noting what went where) and spray liberally with non-flammable brake cleaner. Check the fine mesh screen in the fuel pump side of the carb. Clean it if needed. A rebuild for the carb may be due as they require this to keep operationg occasionally.

A relative has a weed eater featherlite 20c and thr primer bulb doesnt keep gas in it,is it supposed to?and if so what is the cause? And it want stay running unless u keep it running wide open. Why is that?

The machine is having a fuel delivery issue The purge/primer bulb PULLS fuel from the fuel tank, thru the carb and then to itself it pull any air/old fuel in the carb...and the PUSHES this mixture back to the fuel tank. There are check valves in carbs that have the bulb on them..Deteriorated fuel lines clog a screen in the carb and the ethanol in the gas works to deteriorate the fuel pump and metering diaghram in these carbs...You have to start at the tank with the fuel filter and go from there.
I'd say from the running symptons that a diaghram kit is needed for the carb...they are cheap and easily installed.

I have replaced the fuel lines on flymore maxi trim 380

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue....pull and clean spark plug or replace it...remove and clean carb....check fuel filter, make sure its not clogged.
It may be time to rebuild the carb if cleaning it doesn't remedy this condition.l Rebuild kits aren't real expensive and sometimes fix this type of problem.

Engine is bogging down

Sounds like a fuel issue. Just enough gas getting there to start it, but not enough to keep it running. Start at thefuel line to the carburetor. Make sure fuel will come out at a sufficient stream. If it doesn't, work backwards towards the fuel tank, looking for clogged fuel lines and such. Clean whatever is suspect. If you get fuel all the way to the carburetor, you'll need to clean the carburetor. Careful disassembly is critical to getting it put back together correctly. Clean your parts with brake cleaner, not carburetor/choke cleaner, paying particular attention to orifices.
