The only way you could possibly fix this by yourself would be to:
1) Try taking the battery out of the unit and let it sit out for a good 90 seconds, then put it back in and turn back on. Does it still have the issue? If so then
2) You will need to replace the screen which is very technical and difficult. At that point I'd personally just sell your current one on ebay and buy a replacement.
