Question about Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive

There is power to the Book but it is not reading on the computer. I have tried different computers and wires.

If drive is no longer showing up I would double check in Disk Management to see if you need to reassign the driver letter. The links below will help you do this.

If the drive does not show up then most like the controller card for the USB connection has gone bad. If you are still in warranty I would contact Western Digital about getting an RMA for the drive. If you are out of warranty then you should be able to pull the drive out of the encloser and connect it directly to you computer to access the data.

Address book - I assume you are referring to an email program, but which one, there are hundreds.
What operating system are you using, different ones store things in different places.
Is Christine the only user or are there other user accounts on this computer.

Need a wiring diagram for a 2006 chrysler grand voyager


The first thing you need done is to have the BCM module read for fault codes. The instrument clusters in these vans are fraught with problems, they are a computer and all displays are computer generated with data from the PCM and BCM control modules. Sorry but a wiring diagram will tell you nothing, the testing is what is needed. If you still want to have the diagrams go to Ebay motors and try and find a used factory wiring diagram either on CD/DVD or in book form. The wiring diagrams are broken down into the different systems of the car. like lighting, Climate control etc.

My kobo is frozen on starting sync won't turn on or off


Note: If your Kobo device has been physically damaged, it is no longer covered by Kobo's limited warranty. On a Kobo eReader, a physically damaged screen will look like it's been shattered, or you may see vertical or horizontal lines on the screen with a frozen image. If you haven't dropped or damaged your Kobo eReader, but are experiencing issues, try the steps below in the order suggested.
  • Turn your eReader off and then on again.
  • If your screen is frozen, slide the power button to the right and hold it for 10 seconds. Your eReader should turn off.
  • Turn your eReader off and charge it for at least four hours. Note: Your computer should be turned on while you are charging your Kobo eReader.
  • If your eReader isn't charging, try using a different Micro USB cable or a different USB port on your computer. Note: If your eReader's battery is completely drained it can take up to 15 minutes before it reacts to being plugged into power.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, or Kobo Mini: tap the centre of the screen to bring up the Reading Menu, tap the > Home icon to return to your Home screen, then open your book again.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Touch: press the Home button and open your book again.
  • Try a basic reset.
  • If you're still having issues, consider a factory reset.

I tried to use the SwissKnife soft ware to create a partition on my WD my book essentials 2TB external hard drive. How ever I couldn't find any instructions under help, so I played around and did some...


First thing that you can try here is to connect the drive on a different USB port on your computer if your computer is a desktop better connect it on the back USB port of your computer and then while its connected restart the computer and then now check if it be detected.

But if still not better if you can test it out on a different computer so we can see if it will be detected or not on a different system.

MY WD can't recognize by my pc but last week i use it but there no problem but when i plug it again today in my pc the book are not be read and theres no icon that can be seen in the HARD DISK DRIVERS BUT...


Device Manager only says that the disk is getting AC power, and that the "data" cable is connected, and that Windows has recognized the specific device-information (that it is a disk-drive, and that the capacity of the disk-drive has been recognized).
Device Manager does not say that the "spinning" part of the disk-drive is still spinning, nor that there are any I/O errors (trying writing with a pen onto greased paper -- not everything you write can be read).

Try connecting the MyBook to a different USB port on your computer.

If it still is not "readable", then you have a few options:

* if the warranty still is valid, exercise the warranty, to get it repaired/replaced,
* disassemble the case, disconnect the disk-drive from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and connect the disk-drive as a "slave" drive in some desktop computer, to see if the USB-to-disk-drive adapter has failed
* buy a replacement disk-drive, connect it to that USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and close the case, to create a "new" external disk-drive.

My computer froze up one day. The green light on the mobo stays lit all the time now. I've replaced the cpu, RAM and tried different video cards, but it still won't boot up. I even got a different ASUS...


Hi,

I think you have just about covered everything by testing the hardware out on a different system. The only vital thing that you haven't checked is the PSU (Power Supply Unit).

Get another power supply of the same type and try that in your system as faulty PSU's can cause these problems even though the motherboard is showing that power is being received, it could be showing a false positive.

Try booting your computer first and then connect the usb cable to the usb port on the computer. Connect the power supply cord directly to a wall socket. Also try the usb cable on different usb ports on the computer. If possible also try it with a different usb cable. If nothing works, check the file format system under disk management, you might have to re-format it.

When I turn on my tascam 2488mk there's a message that reads...Cannot book!! Not detect hdd correctly please power off and check h\w.


well id say the hard-drive is not properly connected inside the computer to the motherboard. usually two cables that connect it one looks like a strip of mutiple wires usualy wide, and the other is a power cable that connects to the power supply. try removing the strip cable and reinserting it.
