Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

Hi. My machine works, but is beginning to sound loud. My husband says it sounds like things are rubbing together and it needs oil. I have lost my manual and don't know where to oil it. Please help.

It is not any oiling but the motor must be making the noise due to a damaged bearing/bush. An oiling might redduce but might not be a solution.
But in the first place we need to open to confirm as the source of noise is the fault itself.
Maybe a reset can solve the issue.

Hi,

Check to see that nothing is clogging the machine. If you don't find anything, then the fan on the motor may be broken or chipped.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

My Dyson DC25 makes a loud beeping noise when I turn it on. Sounds like the noise a big truck makes when it's backing up. What is the cause?

you must not have operated the machine for sometime now.....so try to oil the shaft of the motor and then it will work smoothly

Need instructions to reassemble Eureka vacuum
Posted by TamiLynn on Jun 18, 2008
I had to completely disassemble my Eureka Whirlwind Lite Model 410 bagless vacuum due to an excessive amount of debris that collected in an inconspicuous spot and now that I've reassembled it sounds like something from the motor is rubbing inside somewhere as if I put it together incorrectly. Do you have any schematics on what the insides should look like so I can put it together properly?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way to get the schematics is to contact the Eureka Factory @ the listing I will give you below. Sometimes the owners manual have the schematics in the owners manual but if not they might be down loaded from the factory website or to contact them by phone

And ask for cust serv or the serv tech support or parts for the schematics. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

A clog in the hose or dirt inlet by the brush roll will cause the motor to sound loud. But so will a bad motor bearing, or motor fan, in which case you would have to replace the motor.

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. I have gone exactly by the manual instructions and made sure the belt and end caps were on correctly, but the bristles still rub the back and it makes a very loud noise. Without the brush roller in the vacuum, it sounds and runs normal. What could the problem be?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The Royal Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum has just bushings in the ends of the brushroll and not bearings and once the bushings are bad I suggest that you replace the brushroll in the vacuum and put a new belt on the vacuum as well. There is no way to repair the bushing s in order to it to work properly. The suggested belt change is every 4 to 6 months and to store the extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. Suggest looking at a local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

High rpm

These machines are noisy to begin with, but will become worse if anything is allowed to enter the fan area of the motor. I have seen debris clog the front fan and put the motor out of balance so it will really scream when it runs. This work is best left to a competent professional
