GE dryer dwsr463eg7ww timer isn't working and doesnt heat up

The heating element assembly warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the dryer won't stop, it may be because the heating element assembly isn't working - which greatly increases the drying time. Check the heating element for continuity. http://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Dryer/7-3-850356-/GE-Dryer-won-t-stop-DWSR463EG7WW

DRYER NOT HEATING UP

Matthew Campbell,
I understand that your Frigidaire electric dryer will run but is not heating up. What I would suggest would be to give the appliance a hard reset.
You can do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power at the Circuit Breaker for 3-5 minutes. After resetting it for the 3-5 minutes, bring power back to the dryer. Run any cycle and see if you are getting heat or not.
If you are not getting any heat to the appliance, it could be either something to do with the heating element or possibly the control board itself. The other possibility would be the wiring going between the heating element and the control board.
I would recommend contacting a local authorized technician to determine what exactly is the root of the dryer not heating.
-Best Regards-

I have a Whirpool Dryer model 3LEN 2000PW1 It runs but does not heat?? Four years old. Could it be the heating element?

Hello there:
Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Whirpool dryer 10 years old is still heating but taking very long to dry clothes. Checked dryer vent and it is clear. Will heating element help?

If your heating element is still heating up the cause lies elsewhere. Filter for dryer both at the base of dryer and filter location . If you are getting heat then airflow is the problem. how is the fan motor in front of heating element

Dryer will not heating up. Only 5 years old

Two possible reasons:

1. The heating element or the temperature sensor is broken.
2. The exhaust vent is obstructed and needs to be cleaned.

Good luck.

You say its a gas dryer...there is no element. Have you cleaned the lint trap. Is the vent clear of obstructions? I suspect one of these issues will be the problem

I have an Amana Elec. Dryer. Model # DLE 330 RAW that all of sudden quit heating. This dryer is about five years old. It has 7 cycles and 3 temp controls. Could this be a bad heat control switch or a...

It could be a circuit breaker, fuse, or electrical problem. Just because the motor runs doesnt mean it will heat.

You should check for power first.

Then unplug the dryer remove the lower front panel, two screws.

Mark and label any wire you remove so you know where they go!

in the back on the left is the heating element, check for burnt wires, take the element out and check for a broken wire on the back side also check all the thermostats, and electrical components to make sure they are good.
