Question about Philips Magnavox 27MS343S 27" TV
U talking about way back in the 40 and 50.From the 60 on tv all use intergrated circuit board.Mostly ICS chips now,no more tubes and analog parts.The problems ur tv have is the Horizontal IC chip is dead.

Problem could be in the jungle IC - affecting the line drive stage somewhat. I would check all components around this IC as well as replacing the chip since they may have changed their characteristics (dropped value, changed value, leaky etc) and resoldering any suspect joints.
