Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook

2 Answers

I have a Dell Inspirion 1525. I have a fairly new after market replacement battery which I have only had now for 4 months. I am using Vista. As soon as I unplug, computer shuts down. I go to power settings and it says the battery is charging and that the battery is performing normally. Is this a charger issue or a battery issue?

The adapter is working correctly. The battery is either slow to charge or in need of replacement.

It's possible your battery isn't charging at all so to test this boot into bios -> battery status and watch it run overnight.

I had to reinstall my vista os on my dell inspirion 1525 and now the wifi connection will no go on. I h ave tried turning on and off the toggle switch, the BIOS is set to enabled for wifi, I have tried...

There is a strong chance that the wireless card inside is bad. I work at a computer repair shop and work mainly with laptops. It isn't uncommon for wireless cards to go bad, before their "time". Usually Dell's have access panels on the bottom of the laptop where you can see the wireless card. It will have 2, sometimes 3 small wires plugged into it. Usually dell' use Dell brand cards, which are really repackaged Broadcom wireless cards in most cases. In your situation, write down what the model number is, go to another computer, look up that model on ebay, buy one, replace it.

Dell Inspirion 1525 will not boot up. Stays on the Dell screen. The laptop does not respond to F2, F8 or F12 keys.

Try this once...
Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

If there is no response please leave a feedback

The left side of my Dell Inspirion 1525 laptop is darker than the right side. Any ways to fix that?

Replace the LCD screen. Probably $120 to buy a "pre-owned" screen, or double-that for a new screen, plus $60 in "labour" for a qualified technician to do the work.

Dell inspirion 1525 will not boot upon power up...only displays locked 9 light solid

This is a Hard Drive error. If your unit is under one year old, you can get the drive replaced by Dell.
The drive can be accessed outside the laptop to retrieve the data, but it may fail all together very soon.
If you have no data on it, just get a new Hard drive installed. Dell should be able to replace the drive and start the system restore for you.

Locked out by password on dell inspirion 1525 how do i re install vista

If you have the vista disk, then just put it into the drive, and reboot. You may need to change bios boot order, which can be done by pressing f8 as the computer starts up, and selecting the dvd drive. If this does not work, then please refer to your user manual for the correct key to press. If you can boot, then the installation is self explanatory. Give it you country and keyboard layout, and then when the screen shows "install vista" button, undeneath it is a repair vista button link. Click this, and select your existing installation. From there it may ask you about "system restore" press cancel, and then hopefully, it will restore.  Hope this helps.

Buttons 3EDC not working what i can do?

MAJORITY of the time you'll have to replace the keyboard. It's almost always the cause.

You can find one on ebay for cheap and replace it yourself in about 5-10 minutes.

Best of luck!
