How to get the battery out on a BRK first alert SC9120A.

First disconnect the smoke alarm from the AC power. You may need a flat blade screwdriver to separate the alarm unit from the mounting bracket. Position the screwdriver between the locking pin and the mounting bracket and turn both the smoke alarm and the screwdriver to the counterclockwise (to the left). If this pin isn't in place, you should just rotate the alarm counterclockwise to disengage it from the base. Next check if the battery compartment locking pin is in place. Use the flat blade screwdriver to pry the head of the locking pin out of the alarm. (It goes through the black dot on the label.)

If the lock is out, the battery compartment should pivot open when you press the lever. You'll want to press it so that it compresses against the battery compartment. For pictures to go with this explanation, see the manual. It's available here: http://hsbuild.com/assets/pdfs/ESF650_Manual.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Smoke alarm beeping and can't find a battery compartment, wired

Some smoke detectors don't have a battery compartment they are called 10 year smokes which never last that long. Take off the wiring harness sometimes there is a door there to access the battery compartment, if there is not compartment check the sides of the unit for a pull out latch. If none of those exist you will have to buy a whole new unit, I would recommend staying away from a 10 year and get something replaceable.

My kidde model kn-cosm1b alarm goes off and ask to check battery but the battery is good

See the instructions for that model. Sometimes you need to wait a minimum period of time between removal of the old battery and installation of the new one. Also make sure you are positioning the battery correctly; sometimes batteries can be put in backwards easily. It is also possible that the device is just bad and needs to be replaced.

Battery connection on new alarm Light Your Way Smoke and Fire alarm

If the battery will not make a connection, it may not be installed properly. The connector requires firm pressure.

My First Alert instructions say to "press and hold the test button on the cover for 5-20 seconds, or until the alarm sounds".

Two first alert smoke detectors go off for no reason. All are on 110 with good batteries. Have had these for approx. 12 years with no problems until now when 2 of the 7 have gone off many times in the last...

There may be dust built up in the sensing chamber. This can cause alarms to go off for no reason. Try vacuuming the alarm off particularly around the sensor if the cover is removable. These alarms should be replaced however, as they are more than 10 years old.

Smoke alarm beeping

If after replacing the battery the alarm is still beeping, the smoke alarm is bad and needs to be replaced. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck!
