This is a common problem with almost all the notebooks. As the keyboard seems to be jumbled, you could only try to open the keyboard and try to clean the keyboard. Irregular use, dust and dirt would cause these problem.

There are 2 causes for the same :-

1. faulty keyboard - needs replacement.

2. Blown keyboard IC on board - This is rare. I have only seen it once in my life on a notebook around 5 years old.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The keys magically appear when you need them. For instance, it you open your Internet browser and you tap your finger in the address bar the keyboard will appear. If you open the mail program and click New email, the keyboard will appear. It just works by magic.

Yahoo support

If text changes when you type, it is either the keyboard or the program to which you are addressing your data to. If you use a word processing program, go to that program, open it and type a message. If that message is exactly as you want, no errors, etc; then the keyboard is fine. You may try and write some material in a word processing program and do a COPY of that data and Paste it into an email message to see if the content is exactly the as you typed it. If it changes, then your Email or Internet application is defective.

Spilled some soup in my spacebar then i took it out after i put it back all letters are jumbled. i got acer aspire 1 notebook. help pls!

The keyboard is faulty and has electrical faults that is causing the jumbled letters.
To test the laptop is functioning correctly connect an USB keyboard to your laptop and check to see if the USB keyboard types correctly. If not then the laptop has a serious fault and possibly needs a new motherboard.
If the USB keyboard works OK the you need to replace the laptop's faulty keyboard.
You may be able to get a replacement keyboard from this WEB site.

Display bad, jumbled, cannot read screen. Lex

If you're using a Macintosh, you should be able to check supplies by going to System Preferences > Print and Fax > Options and Supplies > Supplies Level. If you're using Windows operating system, there's no other way to check it unless the printer is on the network. It can be seen by accessing the embedded web server(EWS) page. To access EWS, go to Control Panel > Printers/ Printers and Faxes. You should see something like this:

You need to look for the IP address of the printer. On the image, it's the one that says After getting the IP address, open internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and type the IP address in the address bar as shown:

After typing the IP address in the address bar and hitting "Enter" on the keyboard, you should see the EWS page with the supplies level. Otherwise you need to have OP panel serviced to check supplies. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

You need a new keyboard. The keypress decoder inside the keyboard has obviously developed a malfunction. It is NOT repairable. Buy a new keyboard.
