Right-click my computer => properties => hardware => device manager. Check that your audio controller is enabled there, if it isn't then right-click and enable it.

Also check you mixer settings under control panel

My audio isn't working for my T5052, and I have attempted to install the drivers off the manufacturers website only to have my comp say it doesn't support the drivers =/

Try the main Realtec '97 driver.

If you installed a 64bit Operating System later, that could be the issue.
Search for "AC '97 64 bit driver" if so.

Good Luck!

Left speaker gives no sound

There could already be a problem with the speaker jack, if only one channel is consistently giving no sound on your system.

Try turning the male (connected to speaker wire) jack and you might hear a static crackle while doing this. If you get both channels to produce sound this way, you already have a failing audio jack, and may need replacement later on.

Hope this helps.

No sound in media player

The best will be to start by downloading and installing the chipset drivers for your notebook, which can be downloaded from:
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/13799/eng/ChipUtil.exe

Make sure to restart your machine after installing the chipset.

Secondly download the Audio driver(s) from:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36090.exe

Install the driver and follow instructions.

Hope that solves your problem?
