Question about Lexmark Optra E312L Laser Printer

Open Question

Hi, my lexmark Optra E312 mono laser printer seems unable to feed the paper beyond the print cartridge. The page prints OK then bunches up insider the printer between the print cartridge and the fuser/output. Any suggestions? It seems to be a roller problem. There is no paper stuck in the printer. Thanks.

Try to print with the fuser door open. If the paper prints out fine, then the issue is with the exit guide assembly. If it doesn't, then it has something to do with the fuser. Also, try to check the rollers if they do turn or rotate when paper feeds through. Don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support via their toll-free number for further assistance. Thanks.

SOURCE: PAPER JAM

The problem sounds like your rollers have lost their grip. Remove the paper tray and tip the printer up. Push the red lever on the left of the printer down and you will see the feed mechanism with two wheels. Remove the rubbers on the wheels and turn them inside out. Replace them on the wheels with the worn side now inside and the 'sticky" side out. You should get at least another couple of years worth of use before you need to replace them.

This is a paper jamb problem. There is a piece of torn paper stuck in the paper path that is stopping the printed page from exiting properly.

Paper feeds about half way and then stops. All of the indicator lights come on.

If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing. If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on. If this doesn't clear the jam, open the printer cover.Remove the print cartridge and cover it.For additional assistance, please contactLexmark Technical Support

The E312 is printing pages in all black. I've replaced the cartridge and cleaned it. What do I need to do to get it to stop printing all black/vey dark?

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Lexmark Opra M410 Laser

Your printer has a separation pad that is worn out and needs to be replaced. This pad prevents the printer from feeding multiple pages. It is located in the inside front of the paper tray Assembly.

Catridge refiling

Smartest thing to do s to call Lexmark and purchase a new toner cartridge.

Lexmark does not allow for the use of refilled cartridges in any of their products. In fact, they will void printer warranties and not respond to any print quality question.

Laser printer cartridges have what is called a "Smart Chip." One of its purposes is to protect against the use of refilled toner cartridge.

Also, as an FYI, a toner cartridge that is refilled does not mean that any of the internal parts have been upgraded to "Equivalent to new" condition.

One final thought, it is illegal to hack around proprietary code. I believe it is an Intellectual Law issue.
