Question about Akai MPC-4000 Plus Production Center (w/80 GB Hard Drive&Onboard Sounds)
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Hi, have you tried a diferent power point {wall outlet], If all else fails you will need to test the internal power pack, If you can use a multimeter then the red wires are 6v, yellow wires 12v, black = negative, blue 5v grey is neutral and purple is 2v. If you cant do this then its off to your nearest technician. Goodluck, regards mistyman

When youre in LOAD or DISK mode, does the mpc allow you to scroll
through the cd? In what format are the samples. If the sample doesnt
load, it wont play, but when selected, it should allow you to preview
the sound. The 4000 allows users to import/load SND and WAV files.
The MPC4K should allow you to sample right out the box, but make sure you have the latest OS.

try the 4k FAQ..
http://www.akaipro.com/supportfaqsMPC4000.php
It's also covered in the manual with you can download for free @
http://www.akaipro.com/supportdocuments.php#Z248
I know, who wants to hit a manual when you want to bang out....I'm a
classic 2K owner, trust me I know, but sometimes the 5 minutes in
checking the methods, saves you downtime, and gets you into funk mode
quicker..
The 4k is also the first Mpc to come with onboard sounds, so check a
preset, then check your cd, and if youre getting audio from the preset,
then you know it's not the sound generator / synthesis chip. If you
have a computer, try itunes or sound converter to switch the sound
format, or look for a really nice low end application called CDXtract.
If youre banging out on halloween, youre my kinda MPC user.
Keep me posted.

SOURCE: How can the MPC 500 play the Samples on the Pads in real time?
You have to go to the sample edit page and move the start point to the beginning of the wave sample. Right now your start point is before the sample actually starts.
