Question about Computers & Internet
F htn01, May need aid of 10x inspection microscope to find pesky "thermal-cycle-fractured" solder joint connections. I use an old wwII B&L to do my hunting. Also check the board-side of the electrolytic filter capacitors to see if rubber seal has been forced out of the bottom of capacitors. How old is monitor? Have you taken any close-up (3 inch) digital pic's to document your work? I would not trust ANY CapXon brand capacitors. I use an old Stanford Research Systems SR720 LCR meter to measure and GRADE capacitors. What do you mean by "stays on for a few seconds"?? Is it on for 1 to 3 seconds or 45 to 295 seconds? Will you remove capacitors and have them measured at local repair shop? 12fixlouie
