The optimum setting for your fridge is between 38 and 42 degrees F; the freezer, between 0 and 10 degrees.
However in order identify if the problem of you ice maker is the temprerature of the freezer setting or other like ice maker sensor, control board we sugest to lower the tempreruture of the freezer first by 3 degrees live it for 24 hour and check the ice bean if it is not big diference go down another 2 degrees and check again. If you still have low production you need to check the ice maker sensor and also the control board.
Before proceeding with above test you need to remove all ice cubes and clean your ice maker very good so to confirm that their in nothing blocking the ice making procedures.

My ice maker doesn't make enough ice cubes

Is the ice maker itself filling normally, meaning where the cubes are made gets enough water to cover the complete area or just a few slots? If not then check the fill tube where the water comes into the ice maker to make sure no ice has formed blocking the water from coming in.
Now if ice production in general has slowed, going from every 45 minutes or so to like every 6 hours, then your machine more than likely isn't getting cold enough. The ice maker requires the temperature be at least 10 degrees F or below for it to function properly.

Does anyone know if there is a way to shut off an automatic ice maker on a GE GSH22JFX. The bin on the ice maker fills up and then starts overflowing and I can't figure out how to shut it off.

Raise the arm on the ice maker or turn off switch.

Ice maker, not making ice-have already changed filter?

Have you checked the water supply line. Is it turned on? There is a wire lever that needs to be in the down position to enable the icemaker to work.

My GE Profile refrig ice maker makes hollow ice cubes. Why would this happen?

Not enough water is being pumped into the icemaker. The water pressure in the water line coming into the refrigerator may be too low, perhaps due to a blockage somewhere.

Move the refrigerator enough to get behind it. Turn off the water at the small valve which connects the water line from the house plumbing to the tube going into the refrigerator. Get a bucket. Remove the refrigerator water line from the on-off valve (there should be a compresson nut holding it on). Point the incoming water line into the bucket and open the valve. Do you have a good flow of water? If so, either there is a blockage in the tubing within the refrigerator or the water valve at the bottom of the back of the refrigerator is malfunctioning.

Ice maker doesn't make enough ice to supply two senior citizens. This is the 2nd refrigerator we have had installed this month. What can we do to increase the amount of ice it puts out. The ice bin has...

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
