Question about Apple MacBook Mac Notebook

1 Answer

Apple MacBook "Core Duo" 1.83 Problems, boot up takes 4-5 minutes, cannot stream video or run disk heavy programs(iTunes) while running others. Stops freezes up may or may not start backup, some times it can sit for 10-15 min with nothing happening. I have had some work on this I believe they re wrote something they did not specify what. Yes, take it in. You got logic board problems with the video or processing chip, but first back up all your files and try installing a new hard drive with new OS to see if that clears things up for ya. Thats the cheaper way to go first.

Also, try removing and reseating your RAM chips or upgrading the RAM chips for higher memory

I have colorful horizontal lines running through my imac

Colorful lines usually represent video problems. You will need to take your iMac to an Apple certified repair store to have it fixed. It's an advanced job that can only be done with the help of special equipment.
Good luck.

It sounds like you need a boot disk.

You can try to boot holding Command + R and go into recovery mode. If it's too old, you'll need to download the recovery tool from apple's website.

My macbook when i uploading i turn off macbook and i turn on macbook didn't boot up just see turn around aound forever not go to windows i lost system disk unable to boot macbook

Check for a failing hard drive
Trying booting from the Mac OS X install disc. insert the Mac OS X install disc. press the start button, while holding down the "C" key on the keyboard
Once you are running from the disc. go to Disk Utilities select the hard drive click the "repair permissions" button at the bottom.
If you get any red errors listed or it doesn't seem to finish repairing the permissions you have a failing hard drive and it will need to be replaced.
If the repair permissions finishes without any problems. You will have to reinstall the operating system.

When booting up my laptop it has a gray screen with the apple for a minute and then it turns to a circle with a slash through it

Boot from the CD/DVD that came with your Macbook. Launch 'Disk Utility' and perform 'Repair Disk' as well as 'Repair Disk Permissions' on your boot drive and hopefully that will fix the issue.

If that doesn't do it, try holding the Option key during startup to select the boot disk and select your Mac HD. If it boots in this manner there are rumors about some bad SuperDrives out there causing this boot issue. So you may want to boot it while holding "D" and run the Apple Hardware Test from the DVD/CD.

My 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro has frequent freezes, with the spinning ball- lasting from a few seconds to as long as 20 minutes or so. Certain things always cause this- such as certain websites...

You can use Onyx available at
http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html
or
Cocktail available at http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/download.php

I use Onyx so here are the instructions for Onyx but Cocktail runs the same sort of functions (it's fairly self-explanatory)

Now the instructions When Onyx boots up it allows you to check the integrity of the disk allow it check the disk. Once this is completed run the repair permissions under Maintenance as a mac really requires this to be done every now and then. Once this has run, run the Scripts (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) A mac generally runs scripts early in the morning and if your mac is switched off these scripts are not run. This can sort out a lot of problems.

I would also run the cleaning part of Onyx which can delete any problems with rubbish that can glunk (not sure if this is a word) the machine.

Hope this works by the way be patient when running the apps they can take some time.

If this suggestion does not work, I would consider reinstalling the system but remember when installing preserve the users when installing and do not reformat the drive.
