Ffbm 920w won't cool

It appears that your auto defrosting system (if you have one) is not working. So your evaporator coil is frozen up - all that ice serves as an insulator and not enough cold air is getting down into frig section. Until you replace either the freezer defrost element or the defrost timer all you need to do is unplug for a few hours till it fully defrosts then plug back in - will work fine for a few days at normal internal temps till the ice builds up again.

If your timer and defrost element are both working properly, THEN, you might want to check if you have enough refrigerant in the system - you may have a leak.

Refrigerator is not cold (50);freezer is working; vents not blocked. What can I do? Fan is working, & compressor does kick on.

Nine out of ten times it turns out to be a defrost issue. What most people dont understand is the refrigerator gets its cool air from the freezer. If the evaporator coil in the freezer becomes a block of ice then the airflow from freezer to fridge section is blocked. The block of ice along with already frozen foods in the freezer compartment help to keep those foods frozen. Therefore you assume the freezer section is fine. However, the lack of cool airflow to the fridge side quickly turns that 38 degree air into 50 degree air. You could try unplugging the fridge and leaving doors open for 24 hours, this will thatw the evap coil. Plug it back in after the 24 hours, and within 12-24 hrs everything should be cool. If the fridge continutes to cool for about 3-6 days and then fails again, you certainly have a defrost problem. This is long winded, but hope it helps

Temperature in refrigerator is now at 60 degrees even with the dial at setting of 9 other side freezer is fine

sounds like the defrost system is cutting up, it melts the ice in the freezer compartment to allow cold air from freezer to travel to fresh food side and back again, could be a damper control but very rare event.we use to have to melt ice manually in freezers now we have automatic defrosters do it for us. this is not the easiest repair but the defrost sysem is replacable and not the end of your frig.u can empty frig and turn it off for 24 hrs with doors open and let it defrost naturally,so as to make sure that it is a defrostsystem, after 24 hrs turn back on and see if it works correctly after 6 or 8 hrs, if so definite defrost problem.

My hotpoint refrid. (Model CSX25GR) keeps leaking copious amounts of water from the freezer. INside the freezer there is alot of ice build up running down the back.

Sounds like a plugged drain tray under the coil. It needs to be unplugged for 24-36 hrs to melt all the ice and then remove the panel covering the coil to see why it's blocked. Sometimes they just need to be blown out to clear it.

I have a PFS22MISBBB. refrigerator registers 60 degrees (set at 38) and freezer is 25 (set at 0).Talked to a repairman who advised me to be sure there isn't any dirt buildup around the coils; then added to...

The repairman is correct. If the coils are clean the next check would be to see if there is any frost buildup in the freezer section. If there is it's not defrosting. The common causes for that is a bad defrost timer, defrost heater or a defrost thermostat. Another test is to unplug the refrigerator and open the doors for 24-36 hrs. to melt everything. When you plug it back in it will run at the right temp for a few days until it builds back up with frost.

Selected temp for freezer and refrigerator in not obtained. my milk and other foods are all spoiled. the meat from the freezer are not frozen. ice maker not making any more ice. I set the refrigerator at...

If the fan is running you more than likely have a defrost problem.
look at the back wall of the freezer section if it is frosted up.
If it is frosted up. it's not defrosting.
There three components in this system. The defrost heater, the defrost termination stat., and the defrost timer. Newer refrigerators do not have a timer per say it is build into a electronic board usually mounted on the back of the refrigerator under a metal plate. The termination stat is the cheapest part @ $ 25.00. The heater should run @ 50.00 to 70.00. The board could be as much as 200.00 or more. If the refrigerator is over 10 years old you may wish to look into getting a replacement. Appliances are designed to start failing after 10 years old.
My opinion.
If you unplug the refrigerator let it defrost then plug it back in. it will work properly about 3 days before it frosts back up.
Hope this helps
