I am not able to locate the wifi switch - Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Notebook

You would either need to replace the portion of the case where the wifi switch is located (can't buy just the switch) check on ebay for cheap replacements.
You could if you want remove the wifi switch and hot wire the contacts together (permanent wifi on)

Opening the WiFi depends on the brand or make of your laptop.

Mostly, you will have a switch for the laptop to turn on the WiFi radio. Try locating the switch for your WiFi. Usually, it is the one with a small antenna symbol printed near a small LED light. If the light is on, it means the WiFi radio is on.

please explain, what you mean by doing everything, did u reinstall your operating system and install the correct wifi drivers? if yes then probably you did not switch on the wifi button. If you check on your keyboad there is an key labelled FN (function key) it is ussually on the lower left side just next to your ctrl key. Now look fo a key with a wifi symbol on it, this key is usually located on the top line keys. now press the function key and the wifi key at the same time to activate wifi. Some laptops actually have a wifi switch that needs to be switched on for wifi to be activeted

if all this does not work check on the device manager if the drivers installed are the correct ones, if not you will have to download the correct drivers and re install. If you experince any problems, send me your laptop brand name, and model and i'll assist.

That's right, there's a physical wifi switch for your Lenovo 3000 N100. It's located on the front panel of your machine. It should be toggled on the right side if you wanted to turn it on. If it's not working you might need to turn on it's wifi soft switch. All you have to do is to press the Fn + F5 button. In any case and still you will be encountering the same issue that wifi switch can't be turned on I will ask you to contact Lenovo so they can give you proper recommendation on how the wifi switch can be replaced.

To Enable wireless adapter for Latitude D600 Press Fn+F2.

WIFI can be enabled by moving the switch that is located in front of your netbook to the right.
This will enable WIFI and wireless indicator icon will be shown among tray icons.
To switch it off move it in opposite direction.

Try to examine your laptop keyboard.

1. Look for a Function Key (F1 ... F12) with the wifi icon below it usually printed in orange or blue.
2. Now press and hold the Fn key and press that function key with the wifi icon.
3. That softly turns your wifi ON.
   

Plug your power cord back in, then boot your computer again. If your WiFi button was on before, it should automatically switch on after booting your laptop.

I could not find any information as to where the WiFi switch is located on that model, but it should be near the side, front, or near the keyboard. It should be a small switch or button with this symbol:

If you are so sure of three wireless networks in range then it could be the HW problem in the laptop. Is the green light indicating WiFi lighting on? May be your WiFi switch is non functional. So switch on the WiFi and then look for LAN. Login and not searching a LAN are two different problems. If you cant search the wire less LAN then how can you log into any. So it has to be HW problem as you cant locate any although there are three available. So start at the WiFI switch.

Yes it is wifi supported. I have the same computer. Check your wireless switch it is located just to the right of the three blue lights. Switch needs to be slide to the right.
