This is how I get mine to go to warm manually. Press "Cook Time" until it gets to the "slow 10 hour" setting. Press "Off", then press "Cook Time" twice. This puts mine on the "Warm" setting. Found this by accident and it took me quite a while to recreate, but the "Warm" setting is very handy if your food is already done before the cook time runs out.

SOURCE: Replacement cover for Rival 38601 Crock Pot

I have had mine ONLY TWO MONTHS and picked up the lid, handle came off and lid shattered into a million pieces. Didn't know there was a one year warranty, so now I have to spend hours looking for the receipt (I still have the box) or GO BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND. This is definitely a safety issue.

Which will provide the lowest heat? low 10 hours or warm setting. Thanks

The WARM setting is the lowest heat. Here's a quote from the user manual:

"WARM is ONLY for keeping already cooked food at the perfect serving temperature. DO NOT cook on the WARM setting."

This is because at the WARM setting, the temperature doesn't get hot enough to kill food-borne bacteria.

Where can I purchase the black ceramic insert for the 38601 6 qt slow cook from rival

Rival's parts page for this model is here. Unfortunately, the part's out of stock, but you can check the link to see when it's in. Or you can try the "contact us" at the bottom of the page; maybe they can tell you when the part will be available or suggest an alternative.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

A crock pot is an ALL DAY cooking methodology and should not be altered. Fire and personal injury are possible results.

Rival 38601 Smart Pot 6-Quart Slow Cooker can't get to to go to warm

Here is the manual for this cooker; http://www.crockpot.com/manuals/38601-C_English.pdf page E4 and E5 tells you details of programming/timer/temperature. Check through everything and see if you can figure anything out. after cooking, the unit should automatically switch to warm mode, if it isn't doing this then unfortunately i think it needs a replacement control board - probably not worth doing. If you want to give it a try then post again and we can try and source you the bits Hope this helps :)
