Try....turning it on and try tapping on F8 as it is starting....there it will take you to a system restore area...If you Image restore it will take your computer back to the date of when you first bought it....(as it left the factory).....It will delite everything you have put on it including picture or and other files. But it will give you a clean slate to start with

No hard drive detected

Your hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and re-seat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

The computer cant find a bootable device. Either your boot sector on your Hard drive is gone/damaged (most likely a virus) or the Hard drive failed. Start with booting with your windows disk and try to do a repair installation.

When it's booting, try to access the setup, aka BIOS. See if you can set CD/DVD as a booting option. As the top BOOT device. Then see if you can boot your installation CD. You may be able to format your drive during the installation - if the hard drive hasn't failed?

The BIOS is not reading your hard drive. Take the drive out and reboot into BIOS. Make sure the SATA port is enabled. Turn the laptop off and reinstall the hard drive, make sure it seats all the way and is secure in its caddy. Reboot and see if it reads the drive.
