Hello

unfortunately the shutter is mechanical, hence, you will not be able to turn of the sound. You can however order a silencing blimp, but they are very expensive..

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards
Andrea

Nikon d60 will not take picture

The Nikon D-90 users manual says on page 256 that the ERR message indicates a camera malfunction and that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter.

I've found on my D-90 that the only way I can get the shutter to release is my turning the camera off. When I turn it back on the ERR message is gone and the camera functions as it should.

Occasionally, I have had to remove and reinstall the battery to make the camera turn off but this happens only rarely.

The users manual says if the condition occurs frequently or persists that you should contact a Nikon authorized repair center. I suggest that you contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they suggest. I think this information would apply to the D-60 as well.

The shutter sticks when I take pictures. I have a Nikon D60

Hi da7macs,

This means that you have " Dust " accumulated within the shutter, i highly suggest for you to take your camera to the Camera shop and ask them to clean the shutter and internal lens for you.

i hope this helps.

Nikon D80 shows err and no picture can be taken. shutter gives ussual sound as if taking picture. autofocus does not work

I have just experienced the same problem while on vacation - very frustrating! Luckily my wife had a D60 so we could continue shooting. I checked the troubleshooting section of the manual and it advises to try firing the shutter. This did not clear the problem and indicates a camera malfunction, so I am arranging for the camera to go to a Nikon Service centre. It's very annoying as the camera is only 20 months old and has not been used heavily.

How do I set it up on my Nikon D60 to use this remote?

I assume you're referring to the ML-L3 infrared remote?

Select Release Mode from the Quick settings display. Select Quick-response remote. This will make the camera take a picture when you press the button on the remote. Well, almost. The same focusing and exposure metering delays occur as if you'd pressed the shutter release button.

You can also use the Delayed remote mode for group pictures. This gives you two seconds to hide your hand behind your back before the camera takes the picture.

By default the D60 will time out after one minute if you don't press the button on the remote. Custom Setting #17 allows you to set a longer interval.

How do i set the shitter speed on a nikon d60???

First port of call would be read the manual. You can usually download them from various websites in PDF form.

Shutter speed can be adjusted in the 'TV' mode and 'Manual' using the selector wheel.

Shutter speed and apertue not working for Nikon D60 Digital SLR

What about other modes?
Can your camera still take photographs?

You can Try the following;

Remove the batteries , as also remove the memory card. wait for about 5 minutes. Then install the only the fully charged batteries and restart the camera. Try to use the shutter or Aperture mode, hopefully, you turn it on it and should come back to life.

If not, then it best to show to the nearest Nikon service center..

please do rate this solution and thankss for using FixYa!
