Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I am having the same problem as mg2low. I changed the lamp, but my Sony KF60WE610 still will not turn on. It flashes green several times then it begins to flash red. Can you recommend some trouble-shooting for me? Thanks, Richard

I unplugged tv last night and plugged back in (12 hours later). I pressed power button and green light flashed 50+ times, then the red light flashed 5-6 times, then tv shut down. I read some other post from people with this problem and some recommended changing the fuse. What do you recommend? Richard

    Red light flashed 5 times

    1) what is pico?
    2) can you recommend where I can buy a thermal fuse?
    Thanks, Richard

I need to open the back of the tv and look at old thermal fuse to get the exact specs?

or can I just give you tv model (KDF-60WF655)?

I spoke with Sony and they sent me the Thermal Fuse that matches my TV. I am having some trouble removing the lamp block, in order to get to the old Thermal Fuse. Can you assist me?

Well the changing from green to red indicates some kind of protection fault. If you can get me exact number of blinks(red blinks only) then I can tell you the location of the problem.

Seems like what you heard is right. 5 blinks means location of the fault is A-board(Power supply). Try replacing the fuse(pico most likely) and come back if problem persists.

You can get them on ebay. All you need is the exact specs of the fuse(voltage and ampere rating). Ex: 120V, 6A
Pico is a fast acting fuse. Thermal fuses come under this category too. Get me the rating and I will help you find one.

Thats the error code for the lamp ballast board having an issue. You can get the ballast at www.tvrepairworld.com under the Sony DLP Circuit board category. They also offer free installation information.

Sony LCD Model KF-60WE610 lamp was replaced and then it shortly after stopped turning on. Blinks Green 6 times then Red 6 times Please help!

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.

Changed lamp and now the power is not turning on with the power light flashing three times

Three times light blinking shows that lamp cover has not been fixed on its location after lamp replacement.
Lamp cover is first thing that you removed to replace lamp, make sure it is fixed securely back in its place then turn tv On.

The $1200 was for the lcd engine not the lamp. You should change the lamp. The buzz is the power supply trying to light the lamp.
