My washer/dryer combo Frigidaire washer dosn't spin water out of clothes completely after spin cycles the clothes is still very wet. On the 1st spin cycle drum dosn't spin just makes noise, the 2nd and...

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FGX831CS, is not spinning water out of your clothes completely. I see that on the first spin cycle the drum is not spinning and is just making noise, and on the second spin cycle the drum spins to the left very slowly and loudly. First check to see if your washer is overloaded. Try taking some clothes out and spinning them again. Secondly, make sure that the load is not out of balance. Try rearranging the clothes to allow for proper spinning. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Cloths come out wet after spinn

The water drained out ok? If yes, the timer is telling the motor to reverse and run in the drain spin direction and it is likely ok. If the draining is slow the clothes could come out wet, if the belt is cracked or streatched the clothes could come out wet. If the motor is not running through the entire spin/drain mode the timer could be at fault.

Will Not Spin
• Check for unbalanced load.
• Check for broken or slipping belt.
• Does the house drain system accept water from
machine?
• Check for blocked drain hose.
• Check for binding tub seal.
• Check for partial engagement of brake assembly.
• Check for obstruction between tubs.
• Check for broken impeller on pump.

Machine will not fill sometimes, and the basket will not spin. agitates fine, but just no spin.

Hello there
I will pos this in 2 post so you will have the entire solution there is a couple of reasons that you will have to look into ok
It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump. It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

The water runs during the spin cycle. The clothes

Does the water run through the ENTIRE spin cycle? There is a period where the water will run during the spin; This is called, the "Final Rinse". But it usually only runs for about 10 seconds then stops.

Maytag clothes washer, with pump and belt replaced in Nov. 2007, clothes were too wet after spin cycle

The start of the spin cycle is dependent on the pump pumpin out water and the later level switch sensing that the water level is low enough. The water level switch has (usually) a clear tube connected to it and is found in the control panel. You will want to check continuity at different times. First you will fill the tub to the highest water level. Then unplug the machine. By screwing in the screw on the water level switch. Scew it all the way in. then you will check continutity. there should be no cont. between green and brown. and there should be cont between green and black or yellowblack. Do this continuity test with the wires off the switch. Once this test is complete, reattach the wires and plug in the machine and set the timer on spin or drain. When the tub is pumped dry, stop the spin cycle and unplug the washer and do the continuity test again. This time you should have continutiy from green to brown. and no continuity from green to black or yellowblack. Now when i mention the colors that means the placement where those wires were. Make note before you remove them so that you can get them back to place. If you do not get these readings, the water level switch is bad, or there is a leak in the air pressure tube leading to it. At that point I would replace the entire switch and tube. I wish you the best of luck.
