There is no way to remove this code other than what Tomtom told u, return it to the people you got it from, if u paid with paypal open a dispute for a non working device

I think you just have a defective GPS, write it off or return it to the seller for a refund

Please reinstall the firmware. New firmware will not have the password.

As it is an old used one all you can do is to get the firmware reinstalled from the TomTom Service Center. If that does not work then the trashcan is waiting. Once the firmware is reinstalled then it would be like new.

    Jack,
Please get the firmware reinstalled. Your GPS device would be just like new. But, get it done from TomTom Service Center.

Hi,

Yes formatting is the only way but don't worry. Then only you can clear the memory details.Since you say you bought now only. You will have warranty take it the TomTom service center and say them software corrupted they will try to format it,if theyt can't they will get you a new TomTom 920 replacement for it.I have done this.It took 1 week to get the new replacement.Service center is the best option don't do anything it will void warranty. So take it to the service center is the only way for warranty. They will flash your tomtom memory and they will install new firmware or replace new one.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

"The Tech department did format it and that did not work"

For me they Flashed and installed new firmware in TomTom 920 because i had warranty.

Understand Sir/Madam Formatting is different from flashing both are different.
Formatting mean they will restore to factory defaults.
Flashing means erasing even the software and installing new firmware.

Flashing will be done you have say software corruption to them

Hmm ok.But you will be charged around 30-50$ for new installation of
firmware if you are out of warranty.

How do I return a product

well dennis, why are you asking us? try asking the company you bought it from, some companies have generous 30 day or 90 day returns (not many) others are strict with 7 day or 5 day return policies, this keeps GPS units from being bought, used for a month for a trip, then returned... contact them or read the order form you got. if it's a brick and mortar store, go in and quit wasting our time.

repair both ...start fresh from start.....do a hard restart on the TomTom...this is located on the last menu of your tomtom...Factory reset...it will erase recent destinations and favorites....but it usually clears the tomtom....Now try to repair both the phone and the tomtom
