Have extra older Frig in th garage Mod 596.72232200

Sounds like a intermittent problem with the defrost timer. Sometimes they get stuck. Check continuity of the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. If both are good then replace the defrost timer, that should solve the problem.

Since the temperature is already 40°, the cold control is satisfied and will not run. Thus the freezer will warm up to 40°.

I have an sqd26vw frig. Both the freezer and frig upper sections get warm, while the bottoms still stay cold. I unplug for two days, then it seems fine again for about one month. Any suggestions?

hi , your defrost is bad and your freezer build ice till no cold air can floe from the freezer to the frig section...
your freezer cabinet need to get all out and open the back wall.
  1. you have 2 element that can be check one is the heating element , two is the thermostat.
  2. you need a volt meter to check them.
  3. if the frost is all over the coils then one of the element i told you before, is bad
  4. if the frost is in one area not all over then you got gas leak.
  5. good luck 911service today . com

Yes, if your freezer is cold but fan is not circulating cold air into frig compartment then you should replace it . You will have to take off back panel of freezer to access it but is easy to replace. Hope this helps
