Is it possible to obtain a part for a Yamaha 2 keyboard organ. All the Csharps do not play as a repairer broke some vital part and has not been seen since. The rest of the organ is OK

Yes u can most likely buy the whole keyboard as long as it is not over 7 years old, but as for a single piece of it, no that is not likely, we have no parts resources here at Fixya, you will need to contact the manufacturers parts dept for exact ordering instructions and pricing of a new keyboard. try this site for parts

I believe organ hasn't been played or even turned on in over 10 years. The top keyboard plays if I turn on a setting such as piano or trumpet however I can't just get the organ keys to play.

Since the organ has not been used for a long time, I suspect that there can be degradation of the electronics, specially with electrolytic capacitors. hence I request you to switch on the Organ continuously and allow it to warm up, it there is improvement , then it will be worth to remove the bottom panel and clean up the boards, dry the PCB with a hair dryer and reconnect the boards.
Hope this will help.

No sound on 3 keys of the piano.

if it only three keys only you may want to find out is it worth fixing the 3 keys or is it cheaper to buy a new one. the cost of labor, cost for parts need to fix issue, and down the road so a week, month or year it happens again 1-2 keys go out, way the cost verses the new unit plus a warranty to new unit, it is better to buy a new one these days cheaper to buy than repair the cost and parts and labor is so high.

i hope this helps

thank you rod

PS call around instruments store, piano and organ shops, ask if they repair and is it worth repairing they will be honest with you

Is there a Yamaha school of instrument repair? Pianos, Keyboards and Organs

Yamaha prefers to MAKE the instruments rather than conducting repair schools... they may have some very specialized schools for individual types when first introduced. With the situation in Japan right now such classes would be cancelled I am sure. Instrument repair is so specialized other than basic piano repair/tuning that you will find few if any courses. For piano repair you might want to search YouTube for videos. For organs and keyboards, detailed electronic knowledge and the service manuals are what we have to work with. You need both experience in digital and analog plus test equipment including oscilloscopes and signal generators as a start.
