lots of ways... easiest way is to reset it to factory defaults (lose all settings) and set up from scratch 1) plug computer directly into router (no wireless) 2) hold reset button 12 sec till all lights flash 3) go to default gateway in web browser (sometimes 192.168.1.1, 192.168.100.1 or something of the likes) 4) use the default login for your router 5) set everything back up (keep wireless info exactly the same so you don't need to program new info on all your devices if possible)
To reset your VersaLink 327W gateway to the factory settings: Hold the reset button on the back panel of the VersaLink gateway for 30 seconds. •All your settings will be lost including network encryption information, MAC Address filtering information, and any SSID information you have entered. •The gateway user name and password will revert to the default of Admin as the user name and Password as the password. •You will need your user name or password to reconfigure the unit..
Your VersaLink 327W gateway is now using the default settings for the network configuration. This includes the default SSID and network encryption key. You must re-configure your VersaLink gateway to match your previous settings that were assigned to all other devices on your wireless network. Otherwise, no other network devices will be recognized. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response
By default the wireless function of this gateway is on, check if you can find the SSID using your PC. Default ssid of the gateway is always 2WIREXXX where the xxx are the last 3 digits of your Serial number
If you can't detect the wifi, open the GUI of the router and configure wifi inside it, you will need the system password to get in. you can find the system password on the gateway. look for the sticker.
just add it to one of the router's lan ports..and after that access the tcp/ip protocol into the network card ...of the printer ..and choose to get an ip address automatically .. This will add it into the network ..and all the other devices will be able to send jobs to its IP ..or just find it when you hit search for printer inside default gateway .. If this do not work ..than you will have to configure the Ip and subnet mask ..and default gateway manually like this ..
the Ip will be the router's Ip +the number of the port ...so if the router is ..192.168.1.1...than the printer in number 3 port will be ..192.168.1.4 and the subnetmask will be :255.255.255.0 and the default gateway will be the router itself..192.168.1.1
the dns servers will either be configured automatically and in this case will take the network's ones from the router ..or insert the ISP dns same as in the router ..
1 thing that should not be in common between your wireless and modem is GATEWAY...
Your default modem gateway will be 192.168.1.1
change your router gateway to 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.3.1
to do this ... 1. click on start menu , type cmd , enter 2. COMMAND PROMPT dialogue box opens . 3. type . IPCONFIG 3. note your Default gateway. 4. open internet explorer 5. type your default gateway in browser address 6. it will prompt you to give user ID and password . 7 Your USER ID and password is ADMIN . 8. your router setup page opens . 9 change your local IP address to 192.168.3.1 . 10. Check mark on BRIDGING MODE . 11. Disable and enable your ethernet . 12 . now try connecting to INTERNET .
Hi there... I dont get wat you mean by PIN... Is it WEP key your refering too? Well as you said it is supposedly the 10 digits on the modem.. If your unable to connect, then the possibilities are that the modems default wep key has been changed. To reset this key you will have to access the gateway thru
192.168.1.254 or gateway.2wire.net - click on wireless settings and from there scroll down and you will be able to see the buttons where it is marked as use default encryption key or use custom key passphrase. Click on use default encrpytion key , scroll down and click save settings. Now note at this point of time when you click save , whichever wireless devices which were or could connect to the modem when it was in " use custom key passphrase" cant be connected anymore. All the devices must be reconfigured to the default wep key which can be found on your modem which is a 10 digit n numbers.
2nd choice.
You access the modems gateway page to reset the whole modem to factory default
Go to the http://gateway.2wire.net/mdc and you will be prompted for password. By default its 2wire. Once you have accesses in it, scroll down till you see Troubleshooting - then you can see resets. click on it and at the bottom you will see a radio button RESET - Resets your 2wire gateway to factory default. CLick on the reset, your modems power light will change to orange led after 3 secs from your click. and the orange led will be there for ard 10-15 secs. And your modem will boot back. And now its factory default. You need to do the necessary configurations depending on your ISP.
3rd choice
Reset button behind modem
Click the red reset button behind the modem and hold for 15 secs, the modem will be restored to factory default.
Pls note : I will not hold responsibility if any mishaps happens during this operation. All the above is done on YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY. Thank you.
First have a computer directly plugged into the 2wire
Using windows xp: click on start> then run> then type "cmd" and hit enter.
Type "ipconfig" and hit enter.
You are looking for a default gateway address, usually "192.168.1.254" on 2wire gateways.
Skip the vista section if you are using xp
Using Windows Vista: click start> then click on the search bar and type "cmd" and hit enter.
Type "ipconfig" and hit enter.
You are looking for a default gateway address, usually "192.168.1.254" on 2wire gateways.
Once you find the gateway address, you now have the website address you need to get to your 2wire. Open internet explorer and type that default gateway address in the address bar.
This should take you to a 2wire homepage. At the top click on the "home network" or "local network" tab at the top.
Once there, click on the wireless network link at the top. It will prompt for a password, if you do not know the password, click I forgot for a hint. Click I still cannot remember if the hint doesn't help, it will ask for a system key, which is a 10-digit number on the bottom of the 2wire.
After entering the password you will be in the wireless settings window where you can change the security type to any available that the 2wire has, if it doesn't have it available call the provider and see if they have a firmware upgrade available.
