Question about Kenmore 96562 / 96564 / 96569 Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

The innermost element of the triple burner doesn't work. The outer 2 ring of the burner will heat up, but not the inner ring. We are unable to use this burner because of this problem. I'm trying to figure out if I need to replace the burner (for $122) or if there is something else I need to check before I replace that. Everything else on the stove works perfect. We've only had the stove for 3 yrs. This is an electric range with a ceramic cooktop. Thanks!

SOURCE: The inner right front element

inner element burned out. Either burner needs replacing or control switch is bad. Take out burner and see if coil has a break in it. IF not, then switch is bad. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

No flame touching thermocouple

There must be a blockage on the inner flame ring as the gas is not getting to the thermocouple .

Inner burner on duo element does not heat up. Seems dead.

Hi,

This could be either the element itself or the switch that controls the element. Since the outer ring is working the issue almost always is with the element. The top can come up and the element replaced.

It is a moderate repair, so some technical ability will be required, the use of an ohmmeter is needed to verify the component that has failed. Let me know if you need more information.

Frigidaire ES340 Range One element from Dual element doesn't work

The elements DO BURN OUT. Replace it.

Often you can see evidence of a hot spot on the element where the final failure occured, but not always.

The inner right front element will not heat up on our Kenmore Elite ceramic stove top. The middle and outer elements on the right front work fine. Why is this happening?

Heating element will not come on

The best to test that is to remove the top and take the outer coil and use it on any of the other burners to see if it heats up, then youll know for sure is the element or the switch.

COOKTOP

its been my experience that the dual burner switch is far more likely the culprit, unless you can physiclaly see the outer ring is broken( visual inspection works wonders. as far as trying to ohm out i generally look at theelemnet itself (4 wires lead to the elemnt you can trace 1 to the outer portion of element, and 1 to the inner portion.WITH POWER OFF Iswithc those 2 wires and the restore power try element ad watch for outer ring to work inner ring no good. now i know its the switch not sending power. reset wires and order new switch

Kenmore Elite 790 Range

I can't believe I found this today. Today, my Elite 790 inner coil also stopped working! A little too coincidental.

When I turn on the burner, I can hear like a relay click on, but it does not heat. The middle and outer burners are fine.
