    Thank you.

I have sent you an email and will forward an EXCEL template to you later showing the formula currently being used.

    Thanks again

I e-mailed the sample worksheet to donaldhuang@live.ca on 9th Sept, the e-mail address was my work e-mail address

  • finance#1 Sep 11, 2010

You were very obviously the wrong person for a question on an EXCEL formula.

I do not appreciate your comments. In future if you cannot help then say nothing.

And by the way, I was not looking for accounting advice. I if was I'd have post a question on how pensions were calculated not on how to arrive at the most accurate formula to account for leap years when calculating the length of service.

Apologies, not you. emissionwiz . the brush off reply really annoyed me. apologies again.

  • finance#1 Sep 20, 2010

Can I send you a sample work sheets containing the formula available at present. The problem is that while they come close they are still off when compared to a manual comp.

Within my sector the pension payment is calculated and the computation is checked by another outside agency, there is always a difference between the two no matter what formula is used.

Their formula was requested, but it turns out they do not use EXCEL, and EXCEL is the only software available to us.

If you could have a look and see what you think, I'd really appreciate it the help.

The network days function is of no use as we require the total number of days between the start date and retirement/redundancy date, not just work days.

So with Excel or Access? I guess 6 decimal places for days totally only or 2 decimal for years prefixed by 0 if less than 10 and 2 decimal for months prefixed by 0 if less than 10? If days only I will need to count all the leap years, if not, I will need to count the last leap year only. My email is donaldhuang@live.ca. Comment or drop me an email will be appreciated.

Sorry for the delay. I was busy these two days. For Excel fomula, I think for date calculation, you can actually try to use the firstdate - seconddate and Excel will work it out for you including the consideration about leap year. Details can be found on the following page.

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-...

The netwrokdays function will calculate the non-holiday non-weekend days only.

Excel is using VBA which you can use to develop more customized applications.

How to get a passport

If you are an australian citizen

Go to your local post office to make your new passport you will need 2 Australian current passport holders to sign documents that they have known you for a certain amount of years 10 i think also about 100 points of ID Birth Cert ,Drivers Licence, medicare card ID,current passport, bills ie:electricity gas rates.......2 passport size photographs For current or recently expired passports only

When you need to renew a passport, we will provide a one page form already filled out with your personal details if you are eligible. This pre-completed form streamlines the renewal process.

You will not need to supply any supporting documentation. However, you will need to provide two recent colour photographs of yourself and present your previous passport.

When you lodge your renewal form your old passport will be physically cancelled. Some exceptions apply for renewal overseas.

Not everyone can use the renewal form. In particular, you cannot use it if your passport was lost or stolen (you will need a passport application form instead). So before trying to renew, use the following checklists to make sure you are eligible.
You can apply for renewal if:
  • you hold an Australian adult passport issued with at least two years' validity and
  • the passport is current or expired less than two years ago and
  • the passport was issued with your current personal details (i.e. name, date of birth, place of birth and ***) and
  • you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or older.
Note: You will need to retain your expired adult passport for two years after the expiry date if you intend to renew your passport.

You cannot apply for renewal if:
  • your passport was lost or stolen or cannot be presented for renewal or
  • your passport was issued with less than two years' validity or
  • you have changed your name or *** since your passport was issued or
  • your passport has expired for two years or more.

Obtaining a renewal form

Online - follow the prompts at this web site to obtain a pre-completed renewal form and print it from the screen. You can also ask online for a pre-completed form to be mailed to you. The form should be lodged in person at an Australia Post outlet.

If overseas, contact the nearest Australian diplomatic mission or consulate for details on how to lodge the form.
Alternatively:

In Australia - call the Australian Passport Information Service on 131 232 to arrange for a pre-completed renewal form to be mailed to you.

Overseas - contact the nearest Australian embassy, high commission or consulate. The passports staff will mail out a pre-completed renewal form or it can be collected from the diplomatic mission or consulate.

How can i caculate the interest if it was on percentage and how would i know for which months HELP PLEASE Due date is coming :( I m at the basic level

intrest is calculated with the formula I=PRT. which is intrest = principle * rate * time so for example your priciple is 500,000 (for simplicity reasons) rate is 6% (.06) and time is 6 months your formula is I = 500,000 * .06 * (6/12) [meaning 6 out of 12 Months]... I = $15,000

TI-89 decimal to fraction

Here is what you do:

1) Press the Mode button.
2) Scroll down the list that appears until you find "Exact/Approx".
3) Change the setting for "Exact/Approx" to Exact.
4) Press enter to save the settings change.

You have three possible settings for "Exact/Approx":
1) Auto - The calculator will try to determine the best format.
2) Exact - The calculator will always give the answer in fraction form.
3) Approximate - The calculator will always give the answer in decimal form.

When I divide the answer is in fraction form not decimal form how do i get it back

There are two options.

1) Whenever you want the answer in decimal form, place a decimal after at least one of the numbers.
For example: instead of using (1/2) use (1/2.)

2) Press the "Mode" button. Scroll down the list that appears until you find "Exact/Approx". If you set it to "Approximate", then it will always give the answer in decimal form. If you set it to "Exact", it will give the answer in fraction form.

I am having problems registering on ebay birth date is being highlighted in red i have entered birth date correctly please help

The month and Day should be filled in from pull-down menus, so those can't be the problem. The year should be a four-digit year, like 1988, not a two-digit year like 88

And eBay's policy is that you must be older than 18 years, so your birth date will have to be September 22, 1991 or earlier.
