You may have the gain turned up too high causing distortion or static, try to back away from the mic when you are talking.

Hope this helps.

Mic sound muffled static

Buy a better mic! This question reminds me of the musicians who invest in a nice JBL public address system but then use Radio Shack microphones. A good quality mic, not GREAT but just good will cost you a minimum of $100. Quit playing with toys and invest in real recording gear. Computers and hard drive recorders can easily record CD quality audio, and-so why would you use a $70 mic?

Mic not working!

Go to logitech's website and look for the latest driver for your microphone:

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads

Install it, plug in mic, load audacity/garageband, or any windows recording application, and ensure the mic input on the application is set to the plugged in logitech/labtec mic. Ensure the input volume is set to a level that responds when speaking into mic. Press record to see if it picks up the audio.

Friends say When i speak sounds like Static any 1 know how to change setting or find it in computer. Im using Satellite Fusion

The external microphone itself could be the culprit, or its connection to the 3.5mm port could be flaky. To test the theory do this:

1 Connect an external microphone to the computer.

2 Click Start, point to All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, then click Sound Recorder.

3 Click the Record button and speak normally into the microphone.

>>>> WIGGLE THE CONNECTION AT THE LAPTOP OR FLEX THE MIC CABLE WHILE RECORDING. Maybe even narrate what you are doing while you record your voice. "Flexing cable near mic, now near plug..." <<<<

NOTE: You can only record 60 seconds at a time.

4 When you have finished recording, click the Stop button.

5 To hear what you just recorded, click the Play button.
6 To save the file, select Save from the File menu.

>>>> If you hear crackling in the playback that correlates with your handling of the cable then bad seating or a bad cable are the problem. <<<<

Adjusting recording quality

The better the quality of the recording, the more disk space the sound file requires. Experiment to find a balance that fits your needs.

1 Open Sound Recorder, if necessary (click Start, point to All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, then click Sound Recorder).

2 In the Sound Recorder window, click Edit, then click Audio Properties.

3 In the Audio Properties window, adjust the Sound Playback quality and volume, and the Sound Recording volume.

4 Click OK.

Your new settings take effect the next time you record.

The narration track in Photo story 3 does not

On the "Narrate your pictures and Customize Motion" page, click the little microphone icon that fires off the Sound Hardware Test Wizard. Follow those steps and see that everything is working. Then try a test recording. Also: Test your mic outside of PhotoStory Test your speakers outside of PhotoStory

Logitech Quickcam: Recording Level slider moves uncommanded

There is one more mic control you are forgetting. In the system tray you have a volume control. When you click it open you would come across another Mic control that slides up and down try using this one. I feel that if you use two of these the handling may become a little easier. Let logitech's control be constant and use this one to handle the speech contents.

Please help me

You need to check if the mic/s is working?
Are you certain the Logitech webcam has a built-in mic?
To check if the mic works go to Start - All programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder and test record your voice and play back to check, also try it with the laptop's built-in mic (if it has one) and the Logitech mic.
If both mics work then you have a choice of which one you can use in Skype, most likely the best one would be the Logitech one.

You need to configure your audio settings in Skype.
When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Select Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.

If you still have problems get back to me with all details and error messages.

No recording?

The static after several seconds seems like this is a problem with certain versions of OS X. You might be able to fix it by downgrading or upgrading. Apple Forums say that it's fixed in 10.5.6.

You can double check that this is the problem by trying it on a Windows computer.
