My laptop is HP Pavilion Entertainment PC.now got Windows 7 installed.sound not to be heard

Find the information about your audio, is it on the motherboard or is it through a sound card. Is *********** board / sound card compatible with windows 7? Do you have the drivers installed if they exist? If none of this is compatible you need to buy a newer windows 7 compatible sound card and install it.

I have win 7 my motherboard is k8v mx; via k8m800 and i cant find the right driver for audio....

Hi there!
Your Asus K8V-MX motherboard uses SoundMax Audio driver.
If you check ASUSTeK's website, there is no compatible driver for Windows 7. I suggest you try downloading the driver compatible with Windows XP and run it in compatibility mode with WinXP. I can guarantee that it will work but let me know what happens after installing it.
Hope this helps

You can still make use of the old driver just run it with compatibility mode. As additional info...When you reinstall the OS to Windows 7 most of the drivers are compatible with Windows 7.

Audio deriver for windows 7

Drivers for Windows 7 may be included in the operating system, distributed via Windows Update hpweb_1-2_exit.gif, or downloaded from HP. Please note that drivers for Windows 7 are available for select models only.
If upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, many drivers installed on your PC may already be compatible with Windows 7. You may need to obtain new drivers if the previous drivers are not compatible, or if you perform a custom installation and reformat your PC.

ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe motherboard with no sound

This is a known isue and ASUS is working on a sound driver for the chipset. Keep checking their site for driver updates. The board should all install with Windows 7 except for the sound drivers. Some people say they can install the vista driver and run it in vist or xp compatibility mode. The other thing you can do is pick up a cheap $20 Win 7 compliant sound card till the chipset driver issue is resolved.
