The Lensbaby does not incorporate any electronic circuitry. Without any, the lens cannot communicate with the camera. That is what the F-- message indicates. Without the communications, the camera cannot meter the exposure since it doesn't know what aperture the lens is set to.

Your lens is on properly. You just can't meter through it. You can use a separate light meter, meter through a different lens, or simply shoot and adjust the exposure by looking at the result and the histogram.

Why do I have a Lens Not Attached message when the lens is securely attached?

Either you have an older, nonelectrical lens, or the lens is faulty. Without knowing the make and model of the camera and the lens, it's not possible for me to tell you which case is appropriate.

I have a "Lens Not Attached" message when the AF-S Nikkor DX 18-55mm Lens to my Nikon D5000. Other lenses work fine and the lens appears to be attached correctly.

Apparently the lens is faulty. Or it may have dirty contacts.

Take the lens to a camera store and try it on one of their cameras. If you get the same error, the lens probably is faulty.

Regarding a 3rd party lens it always have some problem. Manually pictures can be taken , if completely not supported. Check the video and find similarities. Like keep F- 22 IN LENS , ( or the highest FNumber ) .. turn on manual controls.. then shoot.. check if this helps and inform

Dmc g2 lumix

Why did you not attach the lens correct? or is this a message on the camera's display? Sorry, but with 7 words, no question mark, you are making this a guessing game.
When the camera does give this error, it could be you really made a mistake while attaching the lens. Perhaps a spec of dust came between two contacts, or the lens was not put on correct, so you could not turn it till all contacts were making contact.

Please try to connect the lens again and take care you on't apply force. Check if all contacts are clean and shiny and no contact is bent or has a dent.
Also remove the battery for a few moments and reinsert it. Then again switch on.
When the error keeps coming back, visit your dealer or contact a certified Panasonic service centre.

Try another lens,or set the camera to shoot without lens. This could help you narrow down if it's the lens or the camera.

How to get lumix g1k to work with an adapter and legacy lens. in viewfinder it states "make sure lens is attached correctly

On page 141 the manual says
[PLEASE CHECK THAT THE LENS IS ATTACHED CORRECTLY]
• Check that the lens is attached correctly and then turn the camera off and on. > If the message persists, contact the dealer or your nearest Service Center.

on page 14 the manual says :
This unit can use the dedicated lenses compatible with the Micro Four Thirds System lens mount specification (Micro Four Thirds mount) such as the lens included in DMC-G1K. Select a lens that matches the scene being recorded and your use of the pictures.
If you use a lens other than a dedicated interchangeable lens, auto focus cannot be activated and accurate metering is not possible. Also, some functions will not work.
You should put the camera in mode manual, to avoid the error you get.
to see what lens you can use see what the manual says:

Refer to catalogs/Web pages for most current information regarding compatible lenses. http://panasonic.co.jp/pavc/global/cs (This Site is English only.)

Muse on nikon says no lens connected

Correct. The Lensbaby lacks the electronics to communicate with the camera. You have to switch the camera to manual mode and set the shutter speed yourself, without any help from the camera's light meter.

After inserting lens it keeps saying lens not attached

I would help to know the error message, but here is what I can tell you.

Having a "Lens error " message display on the camera's LCD display indicates a problem with the camera lens mechanism. This situation generally requires that the camera be sent to a Nikon Service Department for repair. Before doing this however, be sure to check these situations below:
  1. One possible reason for this error is if the camera is switched on and the lens unit is prevented from extending. The camera will struggle for a second to extend the lens, then report the problem. Inspect the lens for any obvious obstruction, then turn the camera off, then on again. Usually, simply switching the camera Off then On again is enough to correct this problem.
  2. Remove and recharge and/or replace the battery. If the error does not clear up right away, leave the battery out of the camera overnight, and try again the next day.

'lens not attached'

We had the same problem. After inspecting the contacts I saw that the one metal ball (contact) that was separate from the other contact grouped on the mounting collar was stuck down. By pressing the contact a couple of times with a blunt object it freed up the contact so that when re-attached the lens it worked as expected.
