Air Compressor sometimes reaches 50psi and kicks circuit breaker. The motor beld vibrates before kicking breaker off.

Hi Bobby:
Sounds like the load on the circuit exceeds the capacity of the breaker. This happens because as the pressure builds, the resistance of the compressor increases. When it reaches 50 psi (in your circumstance) the circuit starts to draw more amps than the breaker is rated for. so it trips.
Solution?
- Find a circuit with a higher rating, or
- Decrease the diameter of the drive pulley. This will give a better mechanical advantage and possibly solve the problem.
Hope this helps

My troy bilt 5500 generator circuit breaker kicks off at times

Check the owner's manual. That breaker may be a Ground Fault breaker, sensing a problem with the ground. This is not a normal condition, so check with the manufacturer's support services. Also be very sure you don't have it connected to a circuit or circuits that may also be energized by commercial power (you indicate the power is off.)

It worked fine last year. This year it throws the breaker on the gen. After 2 or 3 min. The fan works on low and high but it trips on low or high ac its a model 6759c707

If all is the same as when it ran good, such as same power cord (no extension, or properly sized extension ) same generator output voltage etc, then I'd check amp draw when compressor kicks in. Good chance compressor start capacitor may be faulty.

I have a coleman model 8333A8664 a/c unit on a fleetwood camp trailer and was wondering what watt generator would be needed to run it properly?

Because it won't be powering just your AC, I would recommend 5000W. It's that big amp draw when compressor kicks in that will pull it way down, if not strong enough. Take for example the fact that a dedicated 20 amp breaker and cable are the norm for RV's to use for AC now. Double check also that the generator your purchasing will take a momentary surge draw of up to 20+ amps without tripping breaker on generator. I say 20+ because once RV is plugged in or wired to generator, it will be powering any other hydro operated appliances, lights, converter etc that the trailer has on board. I bought a cheapie rated at 4000W, and 3000 running watts, but it kicks out the breaker just trying to start my portable air compressor, rated at 15 amps.

Frig keeps overloading circuit breaker, just repaced relay

I think the compressor has a problem with its internal running coil , or it's grounded. To check it you can disconect the power to the compressor and then turn on the breaker , and if doesn't tripped the breaker ,you know the compressor is bad.

1999 chev silverado a/c compressor won't kick in, what could cause this? it is charged correct.

Compressor clutch winding could be bad or the pressure switch which completes the circuit to engage the a/c clutch....also check the fuse.
If you have the compressor mounted down low on the front pass side.....check to see if the belt is there.
That mounting position uses a separate small belt and the idler bearing sometimes seizes up and throws the belt.(hard to see)
TIP.Add your own power to the clutch wiring or jump the pressure switch to check circuits and A/C clutch.

When my compressor tries to kick back on, it bogs down and trips an internal breaker switch.

When finding a home for any compressor you need to take a few things into consideration. Extention leeds can create a voltage drop. for a standard compressor you will need at least a 40 amp trip switch at fuse board the draw of first start up could be a higher rating than your current breaker

Compressor short cycling

If the compressor is run off of a relay then you could install a delay timer to prevent short cycling.

Ruud heat pump outside unit trips circuit breaker

Check your wiring between the contactor and compressor for a short to ground, or check the compressor windings for short to ground.
With the Tstat off, the contactor should be open so the only way for the compressor to be trying to do anything is if the 110 volts from the unbroken side are traveling through the compressor to ground. Since 110v is not enough to run it, the overload is kicking it out, cooling off, and repeating the cycle. When you kick on the Tstat, the contactor is supplying voltage directly to ground without going through the resistence of the compressor windings and kicking the breaker.
Post back and let me know what you find.
