I would complain to the manufacturer, or take the unit back and try to get a refund/replacement. Some types are rubber sensors, and they can be cleaned if you take the unit apart. Not knowing the make and model, I can't give you much specific information, but here is a neat website that explains how to fix different type keyboards:
