It seems that the video output has gone bad. One question, is your Wii still under warranty or are you ok with opening it??

Try to completely power down the console by holding the power button for around 10 seconds(or unplug it from the AC) after a few moments power it back up and see if that helps.

please remember that if you open it while it is under warranty it voids the warranty.

Let me know and I will get back as soon as possible.

Sorry about the wait. It did not send me notification that you sent a reply.

to replace the video output. Before we go through this. Have you checked the output on the TV as well as plugging it into another TV??

the parts will have to be purchased online to replace the video out. What are do you live in?(USA,UK,Germany etc.)

There are two ways to go about this:

There is a well known parts dealer that will repair your console in UK that can be found HERE

You can do the repairs yourself by reading over this tutorial HERE
You may need a star screwdriver set found HERE

I am having trouble finding a reputable dealer in the UK that I trust in referring someone to. Would you be willing to get the part in the US or somewhere else??

If the power light is green or orange and your screen remains blank, follow these steps:
1. Completely power down your system by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, unplug the AC Adapter from the Wii for a moment, then plug it back in.
2. Make sure your Wii console has the most current Wii system menu. Download the latest update (how to), and then test your Wii console to determine if the problem has been resolved.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, or if you continue to experience this issue, your Wii console will need to be repaired. Check here and enter the serial number from your device to Get your Nintendo Wii repair started in 5 easy steps.

Hope this helps.

Nintendo Wii works fine on standard tv but not on hdtv.

FOUND THE PROBLEM !!!!! The problem appears to be the Freeview somehow interfering with the Wii signal. When the aeriel lead is removed the Wii works fine, and the audio/visual signal is great. When the aeriel lead is in I have the problems. I hope this solution proves to be of use to anyone else having similar problems.

Nintendo Ds Lite Top Screen Problem(pls help:( )

It is probably the connectors connecting the screen to the bottom part where the CPU is. My portable Wii screen does the same thing. If you can live with it, your OK, but you might need a new DS. I recommend a DSi!

Problem displaying nintendo wii graphics

After more checking around I found out this is not an uncommon problem with the wii. Apparently there is a design flaw that causes the graphics card to overheat, which creates various types of distortion. It may have something to do with using wiiconnect24. I am sending my wii back to nintendo for repairs.

Wii has no video or sound.

Hi, double check the rca jack cables that are red and white are connected to an input for the tv and not accidently hooked into the output connectors. Sometimes the tv manufacturer puts them right by each other. Hope that helps, Also depending on the tv there maybe more than one input set of connectors close together, so if you have the video in the line 1 connector but the audio in the line 2 connector you'll have picture but no sound. Try switch line inputs while the Wii is on and in a screen that is making noise and see if you have sound in any other line in(source) setting. Jay
