Support & Drivers
- download drivers and software
- enter your product number
enter your operating system
- click on the + of UTILITIES
- download the HP Print Diagnostic
run the file. anything with a red x, click the Fix button

How are you connecting to the printer (over the network or a direct USB connection)? If you are using a USB connection, try a new cable or plugging into a different USB port. If you use a USB hub, try a direct connection.
If you are using a network connection, check if your firewall is blocking the connection. Also check that the router (or switch) didn't dropped the network connection and didn't re-synch with the printer (or worse changed the IP address of the printer).
