Question about Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso Machine

2 Answers

After 10 years of reliable service, I need to replace the pump of my Saeco Vienna Deluxe. After removing the top of the machine, it seems that the entire "guts" of the unit are mounted on a vertical board which slides down into the plastic exterior case. But I can't seem to find how to slide all this up out of the case. It seems to be held down by something near the grinder. Is there a hidden screw or catch?

Hi
There is a screw n top by the steam valve. Then lay the machiine on its back. In the middle on the right side by the power cord there are 2 openings. Insert a flat blade screw driver into the closest one to the center and push towards the top of the machine and it will unlock the guts. Move the power cord to complete the process.

There are two plastics holders at the bottom.
You need to move a side ( you can use a small screwdriver)

Saeco Vienna Deluxe leaking problem and grinder problem

I would repair it, it sounds like the grinder needs to be adjusted (burrs may be dull), and the leak on the bottom may be coming from the small drain hole on the back of the brew chamber. If you remo;ve the chamber you will see the white water valve that the chamber connect to, if you look below the white valve the small chamber in there will be filled with water, below that there is a small discharge use a stit stick or paper clip to clear hole.

Stuck on ventilate

Try this, open steam wand, if it calls for ventilate pusi in steam knob, if that works then the tap rod on the steam valve needs to be replaced. To me it sounds like the machine is building up pressure and the discharge is not releasing through the water circuit.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe not hot enough

Hi
They should have checked the temperature before shipping it out. There is a sensor on the back of the boiler that has (depending on how old the machine is) 2 orange wires. In the wire or on the wire is a resistor. You can remove the resistor and raise the temperature about 6 to 12 degrees, but I think you need a new sensor.

How do I get the steam to work?

If it will make coffee then you have a horse shoe boiler blockage or a steam valve blockage.
Try descaling first. If this does not work you will have to disassemble machine and trace the water lines back from the steam wand to the high pressure pump to detrmine where the blockage is. This can be trickey and is best left to someone with experience with this type of fix.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe odd burning smell

gears are probably broke. Happens when to much coffee and coffee ground too fine get compacted into the brew drive unit.

Shreds the plastic gears like butter.

Machine has to be sent out for service, gear replacement is long and impossible for anyone untrained. Trained techs it takes at least an hour if not more.
