Question about Haier Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Haier CPN10XHJ 10,000 BTU air conditioner that has decided to start dumping water all over the floor when running. It is set to evaporative cooling as it has been all summer. Could there be something clogged or dirty?

Leeking water a lot

Condensate water accumulates in the evaporator. There is a tube that drains the water out of the evaporator to the condenser side where the fan picks it up or an external drain. The tube is plugged. It needs to be cleaned out.

Dominic,

My only solution is to take the unit in for warranty service. The cooled air has a musty smell to it, too. Does yours? And did you get this issue resolved?

My Haier 7000 btu portable ac is shutting off frequently because it is filling with water - it seems that the automatic evaporating feature isn't working? Is there something I can do?

Yes . you reallly don't want the automatic evaporating feathur running.. Thak about it.. you spend money to remove the moisture and then you evaporate it back in ot the room. fand a way to drain it to a pan you can dump or drain it ot theout doors.

I have a Haier ESA406K 10,000 BTU's that just

sounds like you have a small refrigerant leak which would at first result in the evaporator coil freezing over, then eventually not working at all.

I have a 6,000 btu Haier a/c unit that I've installed in my home, but I noticed there were no drain hole. Is that a defect ?

Hi,
No... many of the newer units allow the water to build up and then the fan splashes the water onto the condenser coil to help cool it and also evaporate it...
However you still need to make sure the whole unit is still tipped slightly back so that water will not run into the room...
