Dryer not drying clothes

Hello, does the dryer drum turn? If the dryer drum is moving. Is the dryer blowing hot air, cold air, no air at all? Now, if it's doing everything mention above escept blowing hot air then you'll need a new heating element. If not blow air, then the drum belt is broken, belt off, or the drum motor has gone south. It was put for a quitt. Which mean in New Mexico, they fired me, I don't work, no job, finished, I'am out of here, don't bury me with my wires exposed. I hope I was some help to you. have a nice day and be safe, GB. stewbison

Drying not taking place..... inside bucket only rotates

If the drum is rotating but the clothes are not drying, you have one of these problems:

  • Blower is loose on the motor shaft
  • Exhaust is plugged with lint
  • Heater is not working.
The quick check for the first two problems is to see if air is blowing out of the exhaust. If not, find out why.

If the air is cold, check the heater. In an electric dryer, the heater element could be burned out or one of the two thermostats (primary and safety) is open at room temperature (i. e., bad thermostat). In a gas dryer, the pilot ignitor or the gas valve is not working.

Dryer is blowing cold air out vent and not drying clothes

Could be the heating elliment..
One way to check --
remove the exauste hose..
Put a mirror to see into the exaust hole & try to see the elliment(s)..
When on - they glow hot like a stove burner..
If the elliment is not glowing - it needs replacing..

Hope this helps !!

No heat

depending on the dryer there's either no flame or a blown heat element.

An appliance service person can fix this very easily.

Electric dryer not drying clothes

The electric dryer requires 220 volts to dry clothes but only 110 volts to turn the drum .reset your circuit breaker even if it looks ok ,if that dosent work, unplug from the wall and check where the plug wire goes into the back of the dryer and look for loose or broken wires.

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!
