Press the MENU button, then use the cursor keys to select the Setup menu (hammer and wrench icon) and press the OK/FUNC button. Use the cursor keys to select Date (clock icon). Use cursor-up/down to change values and cursor-left/right to move between them.
There is a switch on the left side of the camera (as viewed from the rear) near the USB slot. Select the flower icon for macro, the mountain icon for normal.
That is your coolant light. When the coolant is cold (car is cold) it is blue for a moment then goes out. When the coolant is too hot, it is red. When it flashes, you are low on coolant. Check the coolant tank level (it is the big ball shaped reservoir) and make sure you are within the operating level (about half way up, there are marks indicating proper level)
TV Signal is available in your area. If you are subscribed to this service, it will be available for you. The TV service is only available in certain areas: you are one of the "lucky" ones.
There should be a menu with settings in record for videos. there may be a joystick button with settings which can be changed to set to video mode. I have the same camera. The green square icon appears while the camera is saving the picture. From your description, I think you were using "Shot Confirmation", and this setting was cleared during the repairs.
Have you tried going into the Setup mode (on the dial) and reselecting Shot Confirmation? (p. 143 in the manual)
