Question about HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Officejet Pro 8500.. had a paperjam, cleared it but now everytime I scan or copy through the feeder I get a vertical line through every copy. this doesn't happen when I print or when I scan or copy on the glass just when i use the feeder. I have cleaned everything and it's not dirty, unless I'm missing something.

Clean it again but the glass at the very left. Not the big one, the narrow one and use windex

HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500. BLACK LINE WHEN SCANNING FROM FEEDER, AND COPYING FROM FEEDER, BUT NOT FROM THE GLASS. fROM INSPECTION, ITS A METAL WIRE THAT IS HOLDING A FEW CORDS INSIDE THATS CAUSING IT

This may be dot of dirt on the class that looks like a horizontal line when the feeder moves, to solve it, try this link from hp site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01619149&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3752459 it its something within the glass which you can not clean, contact the hp's repair or replacement options if it is still in warranty.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 - issue scan & copy

while the printer is on take a damp cloth and wipe the scanner glass and then open the automatic document feeder and clean the scanner glass there and then remove the cartridges and close down the printer now just pull out the power cable from the back of the product and if possible and the walljack wait for 30 secs and replug the printer first to the walljack and then to the printer, now try to scan....(if your printer is wireless then after the above you will have to run the wireless setup wizard again).if that doesn't work, try the same above but just before plugging the printer cable press and hold the power button,if that doesn't work do the same holding the #3 buttons,if this doesn't work then do the same holding down the #6 buttons,if even this doesn't work then call in to hp at 1800-474-6836 and get a replacement

Thick line when goes throught auto feeder

The automatic feeder passes the page over the scanner, the scanner does move, so even a small mark (often find it is correction fluid) will effect the whole page, check the glass on the left side of the scanner for any sort of mark

HP OfficeJet J5780 Vertical Black Line Prints when copying or scaning only. Cleaned rollers and changed black ink cartrigde. Still problem.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.
