No. It will take some time for the refrigerator to cool the added items, but once they are cooled their extra mass will actually increase the refrigerator's efficiency.

Unplug the device for 30 minutes. This effectively will reset any thermal overload switches in the machine. It also is the first measure of troubleshooting any Air Conditioning or Refrigeration device. If this does not cure your problem you will likely need to seek further professional help.

Why overload protector always cutting off and on?

Hi,
The overload opens to protect the compressor. It operates in relation the internal or external temp of the compressor, not pressure. With this being said, is or has the compressor ran hot or in a location where temperature increase is possible? I installed a unit in my work van and had a similar issue. I even know better, so in order to control heat I have to install a fan to cool down the compressor. To help you the issue is heat, cooling the compressor will be the only fix if you didn't already do the damage to the compressor. Good Luck

Maytag refrigerator Model mff2557heb wont cool

The compressor in your refig is bad. whats happening is when you let the compressor cool down it will run for a while then it starts binding internally until it gets to the point of humming and clicking. only repair is replacing the compressor. sorry for the bad news...

Refrigerator is not cooling. Compressor comes on than off after 20-30 seconds

you need to replace the ptc overload relay replaced on the compressor as this component is getting weak and is cutting out,it uses temperature vs. heat to protect the compressor from a no start or when the compressor cant operate on the run windings and overheats, then this ptc overload relay cuts out the compressor to protect it,it will keep trying to start the compressor till the ptc burns out,it just unplugs off the compressor and a new replacement plugs back in

Motor runs for a few seconds than cuts out. No cooling

The startup capacitor is weak and that makes the overload switch kick in. You can get a 1/4 hp to 1/3 hp 3 in 1 hard start relay to fix that from graingers, or 1stsourceparts. EZ instructions.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.

Refrigerator stops cooling but lights are on. When I pull the AC plug and plug it in again the Refrigerator starts cooling again.

See the overload relay beside the body of the motor compressor where the wires are connected, full it out and have it check, this is act like a sensor, when it sense too much heat it will automatically cur the power to the compressor which wil stop cooling, and when you unplug it or cool it down then it will de-activate the sensor.

try other overload relay see if the porblem still there

The compressor on my Whirlpool wbm46 fridge is cutting out on overload. The compressor is running very hot and trips on thermal overload and then restarts once cooled down. The fridge is only 3.5 years old...

Hello there:
first you might want to have the compressor recharged with refrigerant these hermatic units will over time loose some of the refrigerant and will need to be recharged and this would be a lot cheeper to do than replacing the compressor if your warranty is still good i would use it ok?
best regards michael

Dryer will not restart

Sadly, the thermostats in your dryer control the heating circuit only. There is a thermal fuse that will not allow the dryer to start, but it's one time only and cooling down will have no effect.

The scenario you describe is the motor cutting out on it's internal overload. When it gets to the point where it cuts out on the overload mid cycle, it's unlikely cleaning lint will solve the problem. You might want a tech to come out and verify that the motor needs to be replaced.

Another possibility is o loose connection in the power source. This could be at the dryer terminal block, in the dryer cord receptacle, or at the circuit breaker.

Refrigerator will not cool

there is a fault in compressor motor the clicking is the overload cutting off,If its a relay on the motor its worth repairing,If its the whole motor it would be too costly,I know
its not what you want to hear, but thats the size of it.the relay is in a black plastic box on the motor itself,I hope its that
