the push to start switch holding coil is getting weak and can no longer either make contact or drop out shutting down the unit, there is a coil that energizes to hold the switch on and when the contacts or coil get weak the unit either wont start or start and drop out/quit,you can test this switch by bypassing it and if unit keeps running the switch is definitely bad then the unit is a whirlpool produced for kenmore by the 110# you provided so you need to order a switch either thru whirlpool or sears

Kenmore elite HE5t front load washer-turned on and filled w water

Pressure Switch failure - remove the hose at the top of the machine, and blow in it to clear moisture/buildup.
If not - replace the Pressure switch.

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.

1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" "DLE" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

This is most likely a motor coupling. Pull washer towards you about two feet tilt back, look at floor for black sute. The coupling is attached to the motor to the transmission. It cost about 15.00 and takes a novice less than an hour. There are two 1/4 inch srews, one on top one on bottom , remove these use a scwrew driver to pop off the clips, pry off coupling on both side and replace.

I have a Kenmore Frig "Cold Spot Mod#106" side by side

the water filter is really a screen in the water valve the same as a washing machine. turn the water off for the water line in the back of unit near the bottom you will find the fill line expands and a connection like a garden hose is there . loosen the connection and inside the valve you will find a stainless screen ,take it out a rinse it under afaucet then reverse your steps. the light switch is easy to change . unplug the refrigerator and lull the light switch off maybe you will need a small flat blade screwdriver to get it going. once you have the switch out check the terminals for broken or burnt wires and connections. take the switch and a vom meter and put it on ohms put a meter lead on each terminal of switch press the switch and you see the meter peg out if it doesn't peg either way the switch is bad get model # and find a parts store.if switch tests ok then problem may be at light socket. make sure light bulb is screwed in tightly because it has to prevent moisture from getting in. good luck

Kenmore Ice Maker not dropping ice

Sounds like the arm which determines if ice bucket is full is hanging up on something. Does this arm move up and down freely? If not, you just need to replace the complete ice maker.

Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.
