Question about Canon Image Runner 1630 Copier Copier

1 Answer

E000 system error - looks like we have to replace the drum unit, however quotations to do this range from US$700+ to US$1000. Do you have any suggestions for a company on-line that would have a drum unit for this printer/copier - that isn't going to cost me an arm/leg?? This is a very small office.

firstly these isnt drum unit fault, E000 means fixing temperature trouble. The drum unit fault is when you have streaks on copy.
For drum try on e-bay or find local KATUN representative for cheaper Drum.

You can try to clear error, do next:

press MENU and #, select CLEAR, ERR and OK, if not helps these means that you need to change the fixing assy.

I have a problem of system error of copier ir 2000. how can i solve it?

can You be specific by mean of which system error? Like E100? E000?, E001....

Few examples of most common errors:
E100 - Laser trouble - change the drum unit ( complete drum unit )
E000/001 - fixing trouble - try to reset the error under service mode - procedure: press MENU and #, with > key go to CLEAR and OK, find ERR and OK, turn off and back on - if it helps you solved the problem, if not you need to change the thermistors or the fixing lamp, because you have low/high temperature problem.
E019 - waste toner full - remove the drum unit and open the corks on top of the unit and empty/vacume waste toner out.

Hope that helps!

Pull the drum out. we get a small flash light and look inside. About half way inside, at about the 10 or 11 o'clock position is a small sensor that shines on the drum. Take a cloth and wipe the surface and reassemble and all should be well. Note the colour of the toner wiped off the sensor, (it is most likely black) if the problem returns then the developer unit of that colour needs to be replaced. The black can be replaced by itself but the colours should be replaced as a set.

System error E000

E000 is a high temp. error. My first advice would be to atempt to clear it in service mode:
  2. Go to #7 Printer and press OK
  3. Go to #4 Printer Reset and press OK
  4. Yes = ( * )
  5. Power cycle unit.
If this does not help, on most units you have to start looking at your Fixing Assy. or Thermistors. Make sure that you do not have a piece of paper wrapped around Upper Fixing Roller or and other foreign substance in that area. However, on this one, I would recomend replacing Fix Assy. as a whole if you can, FG6-8326-000 (for s/n starting with MQT/MQV/MRV/MRW) or FG6-8325-000 (for all other s/n). Don't see p/n for Thermistors. Also, heard of alot of other board and p/s issues with this model that can cause E001-E004 errors. See if you can clear it first. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
