Won't help you now at this late stage but I also have a Hotpoint FZM 80 freezer. The top drawer, then top 2 started defrosting slowly. Freezer overtemp light never appeared but eventually I thought I was going to have to buy a new one so having lost nothing I decided to have a look. Took the drawers out and the back panel is held in with about eleven 8mm hex head screws. Had a little difficulty pulling the bottom part of the plastic back away from the freezer as it was stuck with ice.
I suspect this is what was happening with yours and the ice was expanding, pushing the back out.
The ice had formed from the bottom half of the condenser to the bottom of the fridge, blocking the hole where the moisture should drain to then evaporate on a tray above the warm compressor. Buried deep in this ice was the temperature sensor. Thus the freezer stopped cooling because it thought it was very cold already. Now defrosted with a hairdryer it's all OK again.
Shame Hotpoint didn't put the sensor higher in the freezer.

This is not abig problem , but you may want to do a general cleaning and maintenance on it. Unplug it for about a minute or so. If it still persists, call your mfr and see what they say.

Inside rear panel bulging

Unplug the unit and take out all the drawers and remove the back (behind the drawers) panel carefully. (This back panel has foamy thermal insulation behind it and this will be probably be enmeshed with ice - you may have to wait awhile for this ice to melt before you can remove the panel, even after you have unscrewed it.
When you have got the back panel off, you will see a large solid block of ice, probably halfway up the cooling coils, right down to the bottom of the exposed space. You have to melt all this ice (I used a hair dryer to blow warm air onto the ice (have towels and a bucket ready to mop up the melted water, otherwise it will run over the floor. When you have melted all this ice, you will see a drain hole at the bottom of the exposed space. This will have ice in it and it must be cleared.
Then replace the back panel and all should be OK.
The panel bulges because ice/water is accumulating behind the panel, water, when it freezes, expands, forcing the panel forwards.
I reckon it's a Hotpoint Design fault. What is supposed to happen is that during the heating cycle, melted ice drops down from the cooling coils and down the drain hole onto a plate over the compressor unit, where it evaporates. BUT, during the cooling cycle, a fan circulates cold air from the cooling coils, through the entire unit, which includes the chamber behind the panel that is below the coils. Thus this chamber gets cold (-18 deg.C) so that water dripping down during the heating cycle is frozen before it has a chance to fall down the drain hole.
I now defrost in this manner every six months or so. Sadly, very sadly, Hotpoint, like other white goods manufacturers (Baxi Potterton boilers for instance) do not reply to my enquiries.
Hope this helps.

Hotpoint FFA75 Fridge Frezzer. Freezer door not shuting when drawers are in but does when drawers are out. It's as if the back of the freezer has expanded.

This could indicate that your defrost cycle system is nor working and frost(ice) is building-up on the cold coil in the back of the freezer compartment. This will definitely expand the back plate and the drawers wont go in completely. You need to have the defrost system checked: either the timer, the defrodt coil, or the defrost thermostat. My Upright freezer Hotpoint Product code 755703

My FZA 84 regularly has to be defrosted as it overheats. We do this by taking off the back panel - as shown by the Hotpoint service man here in Dublin. We use lukewarm water or a hairdryer to defrost the buildup of ice. Why its building up is anyones guess. The repairman suggested we might be leaving the door open but we certainly aren't. I'm very disappointed with the product and I wouldn't be purchasing Hotpoint again.

Hotpoint FFS70 fridge problem with draws.

Not sure which drawers you are talking about BUT have you tried switching over the two crisper drawers? They are not interchangeable, i.e. there is only one way the will fit inside the fridge.

Top half not freezing

If this is not a frost free unit , it probably has a freon leak. This is usually not worth fixing in a deep freeze. If it is a frost free unit the fan could be bad. This is an easy repair.
