Looking for driver for win 7 - Lexmark P4350 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Windows 8 has updated drivers as much as you would get from Asus built into win 8.

Go to devise MGR, if windows 8 did not load drivers, you will see a flag.

See what hardware did not load a driver and then use the win 7 driver.

You don't do anything to make a win 7 driver work, if the driver is newer, and signed it will install, if it's older then the driver windows installed, it won't install. If you see a flag and windows did not install a driver, then try the win 7 driver, or go to the MFG of the hardware and see if there is a win 8 driver.

You can also run windows update, if win update see's a newer driver out it might pick it up and give you a install option.


Now, your chipset, and most hardware has windows 8 drivers out.

The drivers are the biggest problem, the biggest problem for you is the BIOS was not set for windows 8.

So you could find even with the best drivers, win 8 slower or has bugs more then win 7 will have.

Me, I would bench test all the hardware with win 7, then with win 8 and see which one is better.

You could, drivers are based on manufacture. Like Realtek is a common maker of audio chips, and sometimes distributors use a popular motherboard.
You may have plateaued at Vista, by try the Troubleshooting Compatibility with Vista 64 drivers before you roll it back.

BTW - This happened to me with Win 8.

I searched Panasonic's website for information on drivers. They are not providing a stand alone driver for Win 7, for this printer, but no where on their site did they did say that support was discontinued. It does not look good, however, since they offer no Win Vista drivers either. The latest drivers are for Win XP.
Have you tried connecting the printer and seeing if windows installs it on its own? I have found sometimes this works because Win 7 has a considerable driver database in the installation files.

chances are, the drivers installed may not be the correct one that matches the components of your system. If you still have Windows 7, check Device Manager to see which device are not installed properly, then look for the correct Win 7 drivers for thos devices from Acer. If in case there are not Win 7 drivers for some devices, try to look for Win vista compatible drivers as they will usually work for Win 7 as well. According to Sony, your Vaio isn't eligible for Windows 7 upgrade. You could look at your device list and search individually for the new drivers, but if Windows hasn't spotted what you have and been able to load something that is at least compatible if not correct, then chances are slim. Never hurts to look though.

there will be no win 7 driver as win 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft
to get a driver , you have to go to the manufacturers web site , find a down load for that model that is compatible for win 7 operating system
win xp is also not supported by Microsoft so there will be driver problems there as well

The Lexmark technical support page for your x215 printer is here. Looking at the Publications and Download tabs do not show a windows 7 driver. At this page, it discusses win 7 drivers, and who to call.

Win7 is still in it's infancy, hence not many earlier units have compatible drivers with this OS.
