Question about Acer Computers & Internet

I have seen this question posted by several others, with no acceptable solutions offered--I know it must be a problem with Acer. My Acer Aspire 5810TZ will no longer operate on battery power. When I unplug the notebook, it powers off with no warning and can't be brought back up. This problem just began about 2 weeks ago. Prior to that, it worked perfectly. My battery icon shows 97% power, plugged in, not charging. When I unplug the notebook, everything shuts down. I don't believe the battery is bad. My warranty has expired and I am at a loss as to what to do. The only thing I recently did was to download a fix for the microphone problem from Acer's website. My microphone finally works, but now I have no battery power. I don't think these two things are related, but who knows... Anyway, has anyone come up with a solution for this? I have read somewhere it may be a bios problem, but Acer's website warns against downloading their bios fix unless you talk to a customer service rep. Since mine is out of warranty, they will not give me any advice.

First, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether

    There are a few things you can try, both have not worked for my 5810-TZ. I's a defect in the charging system on the motherboard, but these are easy so give them a try.

    #1) Goto device manager, and click on "batteries". Then right click on "Microsoft ACPI-compliant control battery method", select uninstall...... then click on "scan for hardware changes".... it will do some funky things, and after a minute or so it will be reinstalled.
    See if that help..

    #2) Goto and download the new BIOS. This didn't work on mine, but what the heck, give it a whirl.

    #3) power down your computer, remove the battery, unplug from the wall, and then hold the power button for 2 minutes (full two minutes) Nothing will happen, but your draining the residual power from the caps etc.. Reinstall the battery, plug back into the wall, and power it back up. This will reset the charging system (ya right) and there is a one in a trillion chance it will work again.

    I think its time for everyone to get together and demand Acer replace our defective mother boards. This is the last Acer I will ever buy, and that includes all the other brands owned by Acer but with other names. Acer produces an inferior product, with many design flaws.

I keep getting a white blank screen on my Acer Aspire 4315. Sometimes on boot-up, other times while in the middle of a task. It is running Vista and has only 1GB of memory so I've ordered 2GB. Not sure...

A blank white screen generally indicates a video problem on a laptop. This can be a bad lcd data cable, a bad video driver, or an overheating/disconnecting video chip.

My Acer Aspire 5732Z has a problem wth the keyboard registering, it appears to be random, some keys require several presses before working, on top of that my touchpad has a mind of it's own. I have read...

This is undoubtably the keyboard matrix gone faulty.I replace them all the time, it is pretty easy.. and replacements are about $60 - $90, eBay has them.. You will also need a service manual, link below, to know how to pull the Laptop apart.

Acer 5929. Pushed Alt+F10 to start eRecovery Management. After done 58% it stopped. Tried several times. Always stopped after done 58%. Help?

I have seen several post about this issue. You will most likely need to contact Acer about the issue to get a fix from them.

Acer aspire one mic not working

Yep! I have seen a few of these. Make sure your model actually has a mic. There are several sub models that do not come standard, even though there is a hole in the LCD bezel for it. If it does come with one, then most likely it is one of the bad ones. I have seen quite a few in the last few months. I have only seen them come with the LCD back cover and not seperatly when delivered from Acer.

My name is ArmyMason, I see you have an issue with password recovery. Here is a site you should check out, I think this is going to be your only solution to gaining access to that password. I hope this helps. The only other solution that anyone could offer you is to do a complete reload of the OS.

Full c drive want to use my d drive


Once you've installed a program in your Drive C: Partition, you need to uninstall the software first in order to move it in other Partition. You can just simply use COPY & PASTE command to transfer your MP3, Videos & documents to your other partition, after you have transfered the full My Documents Folder, then just delete the other copy on drive c:
