Dish washer does not drain

Our dushwasher did the same recently and I found a toothpick had jammed the drain pump impeller. because it had seperate drain and wash pumps, the wash cycle would work but not the drain cycle.

I had to pull the dishwasher out to get at the drain pump. Fortunately my pump seperates into two parts so I could clean it without having to redo the drain plumbing.

Water remaining in washer after completed

any error codes maybe f21,take the bottom panel off, you'll see the pump on the right hand side, use a pair of plyers to unscrew the middle part of pump,if you have a shop vac turn the middle part counter clock wise slowly when water starts coming out vac it up,also put a towel under the pump to catch water, when it's drained unscrew the middle part all the way and take it out and clean out the pump, feel around inside to make sure nothing is stuck in the impeller of the pump, try blowing through the other end of drain line to see if there is a block in it,put it back together and run it,put it on spin drain and make sure water is pumping out the drain line,if not the pump could of been damaged and you need to replace it

Water stays in rinse dispenser (fabric softener) when cycles are completed.

  • Hi,
Try these:
  1. Inspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch (some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler
