    Hi,

    I have installed the SigLite software on client machine which runs windows OS. I'm using the ActiveX control on my web page to get the signature data.
    Whenever the user signs on the signature pad and submits the data, I receive the signature data in some encoded form i think it might be ASCII.

    SigLite provides the method to decode this data but it works only on a windows machine.

    To decode the image we got the following code from the manufactures demo scripts:

    $aConn = new COM("SIGPLUS.SigPlusCtrl.1");
    $aConn->InitSigPlus();
    $aConn->SigCompressionMode = 1;
    $aConn->SigString="$_REQUEST[SigField]";
    $aConn->ImageFileFormat = 4; //4=jpg, 0=bmp, 6=tif
    $aConn->ImageXSize = 500; //width of resuting image in pixels
    $aConn->ImageYSize =165; //height of resulting image in pixels
    $aConn->ImagePenWidth = 11; //thickness of ink in pixels
    $aConn->JustifyMode = 5;  //
    $aConn->WriteImageFile("C:\\test.jpg");

    The pad itself is suppose to store the signature in an encrypted format to stop it from being tampered with.

    Hope this additional info helps give more of an insight to the problem.

Hello,

Linux is highly security protected, the encrypted image may be due to the security on the linux operating system, try view the image on windows or any other oprating system, see, if it will view the image.

I want to change the signature on my outgoing emails. How do I do that? Can I add a logo to it?

1. Go to your email box.

2. Click on 'Options' (upper right, blue letters).

3. Scroll down to and click on 'Signature' (second column, under 'Management').

4. Select> 'Editor: Plain | Color and Graphics.

5. Enter signature text and/or graphics (you can 'Copy' and 'Paste' text and/or graphics directly into the input field).

8. Check the box:
'[/] Add signature to all outgoing messages'
Or leave the '[_] Add signature....' box unchecked and check box below compose area (when sending messages) '[/] Use my signature'

9. Click on the 'Save' button (upper left, under 'Mail' tab).

---------

You can 'Copy' and 'Paste' your pictures directly into the input field (if the image is JPEG format - ".gif" or ".jpg"), but there is limited space. If your picture suddenly disappears, it may have gotten corrupted during the process, try it again. Note: some images may not allow you to copy them due to HTML restrictions on the page.

If your picture is in your computer, you can send it to yourself via an attachment and it will be in your 'Search Shrtcuts' > 'My Attachments' - 'My Photos' folders.

After you locate your picture in the search shortcuts folder:
1. Double-Left click on the photo to open.

2. One-Right click on open photo to reveal the pop-up menu.

3. Choose 'Copy'.

4. Go to signature input box and one-Left click on target area to set cursor.

5. One-Right click to reveal pop-up menu.

6. Choose 'Paste'.

Or you can upload your image to 'Photobucket.com' and 'Copy' it from there.
Photobucket
http://photobucket.com/

------------

The Color and Graphics version of Yahoo! Mail also gives you the ability to include HTML graphics in your signature, by doing the following:

1. Locate an image (".gif" or ".jpg") that you wish to add to your message. This image can be selected from the Web.
2. Once you find your your picture of choice, right-click your mouse and select "Copy" from the menu that appears next to your cursor. Note: some images may not allow you to copy them due to HTML restrictions on the page.
3. Login to your Yahoo! Mail account.
4. Click the "Mail Options" link in the upper right-hand area of the page.
5. Click the "signature" link in the left-hand Personaliztion column.
6. Make sure the cursor is in the Color and Graphics signature field and paste your copied image by pressing "Ctrl+V". Your fonts, sizes and colors should all remain the same. You can also resize your image.

If you would like to edit your signature in the future, just return to the Signature area, make the changes you want, and click "Save."

Dull laptop screen back light

You may have a faulty CCFL lamp. A faulty CCFL lamp may have the following symptom: Screen flashes on and off or displays reddish pink hue. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering and/or with dim display or appear black. Picture flickers on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replace the CCFL lamp.
To determine if the video card or the LCD is faulty, connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight or a faulty inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp. Usually the CCFL lamp fails before the inverter.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

I use Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, or similar firewall/proxy software and am having trouble downloading My Mail Signature. Why?

The most common problem when downloading or installing My Mail Signature occurs when running such software. If you are running one of these types of products, try temporarily disabling it, then go back to http://www.mymailsignature.com to try the download process again. You can reactivate your firewall/proxy software once the download and installation of the toolbar and My Mail Signature is complete.

Why can't I see My Mail Signature - or the toolbar - on my browser?

If you have downloaded My Mail Signature and are not seeing the My Signature button or the toolbar on your browser, you may need to enable the toolbar through your browser's menu. To do this:
1) Click on the "View" menu option.
2) Select "Toolbars".
3) You will see either "My Web Search" or "My Way Search" listed in the dropdown - make sure that there is a check mark next to it. If there is no check mark, click on the toolbar name in order to enable it.

If the toolbar DOES have a check mark but is not visible on your browser, clear the check mark by clicking on the name of the toolbar. Then repeat the steps above to re-enable it. The toolbar should now appear.

Monitor image size

There is nothing wrong with the monitor, the issue is that the web page you are looking at is designed for a lower resolution than you LCD is set for (Web pages are normally designed for 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768) you like have a wide aspect ratio monitor.

As I sit here writing this on my 12" wide aspect LCD I have a 2" wide white space on each side of my screen due to my 1280 x 800 aspect ratio.

The issue is one of WEB PAGE DESIGN not the fault of your computer video settings. The web page is written using page frames and fixed aspect ration settings to ensure that the page displays properly regardless of monitor type.

If you had a high end LCD (WUXGA 1920 x 1200), the web page would fill the upper left 1/4 of the screen.

If you lower the resolution of your display, then you'll have fuzzy icons and text, so essentially, get used to it.

Eventually, wed design will catch up with current display technology.

SigLite 1x5 Model:T-S460-B (with serial connector)

The problem was not the topaz pad but my laptop. I removed all software which needs the serial port and I finished all not necessary programs which were running in the back but the problem was still alive. Now I asked my administrator for more rights and I changed the name of the port from port "1" to port "3" (port "2" doesn't work). I've got the message "port 3 is already in use" but the pc accepted the exchange of the name. Afterwards I changed the portnumber in the ini.file of the Topaz Software and now it works without any problems... strange, strange.... my five colleagues who are using the same pad on the same type of laptop (Compaq nc 6120) haven't got any problems during installation of the pad.
Thanks for your interest - kind: regards Ben Gun
